“MUST TRY! Hands down!! I just left maybe 10 minutes ago! I had to pull over to eat after I had a small taste! Their meat is tender and full of flavor so much that I didn’t drink anything after! When I walked in I was immediately greeted and I told them this was my first time and they had no problem going over their menu! The customer service was beyond great, one gentleman got me to try a meat I would have never tried and it was GREAT! I will be going back whenever I’m in Tyler! Very happy about finding a new taco place!!!“
“The food is amazing! I get the #7 with ham and it's better than anything you could get at a fancy TexMex restaurant. If you like spicy foods, the Enchiladas are very good as well. The hot sauce is very fresh & spicy. Also, their green sauce is the best I've ever eaten.“
“This is a cute, colorful restaurant with a friendly staff and great food. The plates we ordered were big with plenty of food and delicious tortillas. The regular red salsa was very mild, but they also have green salsa that will knock your socks off if you need something spicier. We'll be back the next time we're in Tyler.“
“We were at Jelly Stone, looking for a restaurant to get lunch, Ruby's was a bit far but had good reviews. I'm glad we came here. The shrimp cocktail, birria tacos, and enchiladas were so delicious. Also, the service and prices are amazing.“
“We had Javi’s cater a family event this weekend. The food and service was excellent!!!! All guests said they were the best fajitas they’ve ever had. Steak was extremely tender and flavorful.. I highly recommend combo fajitas and queso blanco for your next party. Leah was awesome in coordinating everything and the young man delivering food was so nice and helpful. I’ve only completed a few reviews before, but I made sure to take the time to share how good this experience was. Thank you Javi’s! My fav in the restaurant is Javi’s Taxi and mini brisket tacos. ?“
“We always order here for taco night and take it to go. Everyone I've talked to over the phone calls me friend! The carne asada is amazing! This is an offbeat place to go for street tacos. They always sell out of queso before I can order, dangit! It's super good!“
“Great find! This is one of those legit, "hole in the wall" restaurants where the visit paid off. Don't let the dated exterior of the building deter you. Great food, great service. We have been there twice in the span of 3 days. Once for breakfast, and once for dinner. Had a great experience both times.“
“Delicious, no-nonsense food. Order and pay at counter. They didn't come around to refill water. Beverages are bottles unless you get tap water. No salsa was served with the small bowl of chips, but that didn't matter to me. 3 young children were able to split the tex quesadilla. Lunch steak fajita was delicious and perfect size. Nice for a quiet atmosphere to eat lunch. The staff was friendly.“
“So like this place should be a 5 star , but their lack of renovation is what keeps them from being that .Their food is 5 star by far , but like their fridge can’t shut properly, and they never let people eat on the second floor which ruins the mood sometimes. Other than some renovation this place is great with high quality food.“
“I have been eating here for over 20 years! This is the hands down best authentic Mexican food around! They have never treated me different than any other person in there. I see lots of bad reviews about race and I have never had an issue. Everyone is always super nice! And the prices are great. But the food.....the food is absolutely amazing!“
“Really good food! I have been eyeing this place for a couple of months and finally was able to stop and order. I got the chicken Flautas and they were delicious!Dietary restrictions: I don't eat pork or beef so having chicken or veggie options is awesome.“
“I fell in love with the food after the first time. The flautas are my fav. I tried the dessert and the flan with chocolate cake on the bottom wasn’t doing it for me and the tres leches was good but could use more milk only because the bottom was a little dry but the flavor was delicious. Overall good eating and I will be back.“
“The Brussel sprouts are sooo yummy!! Even if you don’t like Brussel sprouts, you’ll enjoy these. I love this place! Being that the food is cooked made-to-order, you have to expect it to take a little longer and sometimes ask for the tortillas on the side so they don’t get soggy-this is not a complaint. I appreciate it being fresh. I love my local taqueria <3“
“The food here is great. The chips are homemade and not made earlier in the day. Each time I have come here, I receive fresh chips. I have tried the tacos and the sopes, both are delicious. The queso dip is not that great but that is only one thing. They still get 5 ⭐️s from me.“
“I loved the flavors of the pork burrito and the salsa was perception. I also enjoyed that they has chili lime seasoning for you as well as different hot sauces. With the way the ladies cooked and treated you it felt like you were sitting home at you amás. If I had one negative it would be that they didn't have horchata.“
“I spent a few days close by while I was traveling through the area and ate here twice. I had the mixed fajitas for dinner and would consider them above average, for sure. Great margaritas.I had the omelet for breakfast, and it was amazing. Seriously, it's as good as it gets.On both occasions, a man who I assume was the owner shook my hand and welcomed me in.“
“This was my first time to eat at Torch's and the food was excellent. I had the brisket taco and not only was the flavor outstanding it was huge! The young lady that waited on me was patient and helpful as I worked my way through the unfamiliar menu and gave me open and honest in each of the choices. Can't wait to go back again to try another menu item!“
“The food was good, but I gave it 4 stars because of price $60.00 two people no drinks one ordered catfish chunks the other 12 piece shrimp and a $12.00 order of fried green tomatoes that I thought the menu said was 6...but that was how many pieces it was...Parking: Seem to be ample...Wheelchair accessibility: Not great but doable...“
“It was my first time eating at Margaritas' location, and I was blown away by the true and dedicated service I got from Magdanela. She helped me choose my plate, and it was just as she described it. Defently a great place. Magdanela and Cristal make me feel right at home. 100% recommend!!“
“Made my order on Door Dash!!! Most places just throw something in a to go and send it on? But My Order from Abuelo's was great!!! maybe one of the best to go dinners that I've ever had. Thanks for getting right and sending me the freshest and best ingredients!!!“
“I love this place. Their white queso is so good. Chorizo breakfast tacos are what I usually get in the morning, and the #11 for lunch. Their horchata ain't bad either. Extremely cheap and tasty. Don't let the outside deter you from coming in.Update 3/24/24 - still love this place, still great“
“I ordered the 3 taco plate with twice and beans with the shrimp, octopus & fish taco, fried fish and grilled fish taco! They were delicious! Our server kinda forgot about us so I had to walk to her and ask for water. Other than that awesome food and service.“
“Went there for the first time this morning. Breakfast tacos are authentic…some of the best I’ve had. The creamy green sauce was on point and had the necessary kick while not being overpowering. I love that they had a drive thru for convenience but I decided to go inside this time. Service was fast only took a few minutes for four tacos and the price was good ($13 for 4 tacos) Waitress was polite and courteous. She took the time to answer my questions and make sure I got what I wanted! This will be our taco shop from now on!!“
“This place was such a pleasant surprise for us. The breakfast plate was loaded with eggs bacon and all the fixings prepared as requested. The shrimp cocktail was full of all the good stuff! The pazole was like the best homemade I have ever had. I highly recommend this “
“We tried this new Ruby's location. It was excellent. The service was great. Their was only a short wait for the food. The portions were big and full you up. The food tasted delicious. This is more authentic and not tex mex. We'll definitely come back here again.“
“This is a very underrated place, excellent costumer service. Only one bad thing the wait time for the food to arrive takes quite a while because they serve it FRESH unlike most fast food restaurants 10/10 service 10/10 atmosphere it just feels really nice and it is really clean everywhere food is overall great if you go here you just found the most underrated, unique and delicious restaurant in in Tyler TX;)Parking: A ton of spots (people barely dine-in)“
“Amazing place. Best Mexican restaurant in Tyler that's for sure. Might be the best in Texas. Nice size portions for the price. Awesome guacamole. I will make this my new regular stomp!Wheelchair accessibility: Parking is close also“
“I had gotten two tortas( one for me, one for my coworker), and then 3 tacos. Me and my coworker both agreed on the tortas being amazing and how soft and delicious the bread was. The one downside was the tacos, they were dry and didn’t have much flavor to them(even with a lime). Overall i give this place an 8/10. Thank you for a good lunch break .“
“My husband and I just had our wedding reception at Villa Montez, and it was a fantastic experience! Our server, Lana, was very professional and thoughtful during our meal. The food was delicious! The sea bass and filet are some of the best I’ve ever tasted. Our guests raved about the meal, and I’m still getting texts from them saying that the food was amazing! We booked The Cellar in the basement, and we loved the privacy that afforded us.“
“We needed a place in Tyler for out of town family to gather after my mother-in-laws memorial service. Papasitas fixed a backroom with tables close enough for everyone to visit comfortably and put together a great buffet for 25 of us. Clay was our main server and he was nothing less than phenomenal. Never knew until today there even was a Papasitas in Tyler ! We will be back.“
“Came down to this place for the first time , the horchata drink very good and sweet ? I order sopes de pollo very good !! And it comes with rice , I also order flautas de pollo very good as well , and let’s talk about the salsa green and red very good both spicy !!! Definitely will be coming back THE FOOD IS MADE FRSH AS WELL ??“
“Lengua tacos were the best. Tortillas and the salsa verde were amazing. Freshly made tortillas and a very friendly staff. The place was quiet and clean and stayed busy the whole time I sat and enjoyed my meal. Definitely one of my new favorite spots for amazing food.“
“Vegetarians and spinach fans rejoice! The spinach tamales are the only tamales I will eat. Preorder and pay in cash if you can so they don't incur card processing fees. If you are looking to surprise someone with homemade tamales, buy them here. They have all the fillings, I just happen to be a fan of spinach. I'm sure they are all great, you cannot go wrong and the prices are more than fair.“
“...lovely place, omg. personally love love the green enchiladas that is filled w/fresh cheese/ the red are awesome w/ little parmesan & easy on the onion- I just hope they use cotija=aged cheese or queso de cincho--just to keep the mexican thing going! That chicken, Wow! and bean filled hard tacos= I always get #10 on the menu.“
“If you're in Tyler and you are craving legitimate Mexican food, these gorditas are soooo delicious. The sauce is very rich, the green one is much hotter than the green one. The employees are very cool, I recommend you go to Las Mejores Gorditas.“
“WOW - I really need to go through and give everyone else 4 stars just so y’all know that this place is that damn good and really deserve the 5 star review! I got it Togo and kind of wish I stayed. The band was rocking Tejano Guys and it was super fast coming out with the food.Standard Mexican but cooked with care to the ingredients and a fine sense of flavor.Really I don’t go to Tyler unless i HAVE TO! But this place gave me a reason to want to go!Pat yourself on the back you 3 Charritos Bro’s’ you have some fines staff and great cooks and big smiles from everyone that came by - oh and did I mention that this was a week night at like 11:30.Just wowzers! Really!“
“Came in for a late lunch. Late for me. I decided to try the sopas with carne asada and washed it down with a authentic tall glass CokeDining room and Restrooms were clean.I felt that I could not get the true salty taste of the carne asada with the beans. The sauces where a little thinned down as well. More than likely this is just a taste preference of mine. The owners were super friendly and you could tell this is a family restaurant as they had their own family dining with them. It made it a true authentic atmosphere. I actually felt grateful to be dining with them. The only two things I would suggest is having more clearly marked restrooms (I might have missed them) and having a way to take card payments other than Cash app. But I do believe it's regulars that visit this place, and I'll know in the future to bring cash as I will be returning. Thanks for having me“
