“One of the best meals we have had out in a long time. The pork chop was outstanding. The brick street board was exceptional. The Death by Chocolate cake amazing and it was the best dessert to finish off the meal. The music set the tone for a great atmosphere. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable.“
“Old school chicken fried served with skillet gravy? Yes, please. Always feel like I'm one of the family when I walk through the door. Immediately greeted with a "Hey! How have you been doing?" or "Where ya been?" if I miss going to lunch one week. As soon as Miss Susie, an absolute Loggins icon by the way, or Maria sees me walking in the dining room, I know there's an ear to ear smile and a big hug a comin'. From the new lady at the register (I'm sorry I don't know her name) to the kitchen ladies who constantly replenish the buffet line, everyone is just the best. The blueberry buttermilk pie is mmm mmm good! ?“
“Who'd have thunk it. 84 different varieties of chicken salad ( not really 84 but a bunch ). I had the " traditional " which is what any self respecting purist would choose. Not a fan of raisins or anything with fruit or nuts. Some things just should not be in chicken salad. The traditional on a croissant with lettuce and tomatoes, cup of broccoli cheese soup and an additional scoop of the traditional on the side was plenty of food for a lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff was awesome. I brought my daughter and a friend for lunch and it was my treat. We all walked out fat and happy for a little over 40 bucks for 3 basically identical lunches and 3 drinks.“
“The host and the server were great. They both had such welcoming personalities, and they did their jobs well. The food on my plate looked a little like it had been thrown on there - very disheveled. The potatoes were also lukewarm. There were a couple of dirty tables nearby that stayed dirty during our meal.“
“Great staff, food, and atmosphere. Dined in and waited less than 5 minutes for my order.I ordered a 3 piece tender meal, the chicken is very crispy, so beware if you don't like hard food.I tried the spicy bbq sauce, my dad said it was spicy but I just think it had a kick to it. A little too sweet for me.The toast was EXTREMELY sweet and buttery.Peach tea tasted like gummy peaches (a little too sweet for me again).Good price for good food.If I'm ever back in Tyler, this will be my first thought for restaurants.“
“We are from out of town so really had no idea where to go, my son chose this place since it was his birthday. We were not impressed when we first walked in it felt dank and greasy and there were literally maybe 2 other tables at 7:00 on a Thursday. I got the feeling it was not kid friendly but we had our 3 year old and decided to roll with it. The hostess, like others have said, was on her phone a lot. Nobody came to our table for a while; once our waitress got there she was nice and gave recommendations which I always appreciate. I was surprised by the food as I was not expecting it to be good. Pita bread and hummus appetizer: hummus was pretty good and had good flavor, pita was like cardboard. I got the bacon and blue cheese burger and honestly it was one of the best burgers I have ever had; cooked perfectly, they have a homemade ranch dressing that is DELISH and went so well with my burger. Penne pasta was good, macaroni and cheese was good. Chicken fried chicken was pretty good. House made chips were good. It was pretty expensive and like others I don't like being up charged because I use a debit card. It was over 200$ and we don't drink alcohol. We had 4 adults, 2 teenagers, 11 year old, and 3 year old. The waitress was sure to let me know their restaurant was geared more towards adults so we probably will not be going back because we always have children but I would not mind having that burger to-go again!“
“The food from Cotton Patch is always wonderful. I've never had a complaint about it. Meatloaf isba favorite of ours. And the Dr.Pepper cake is amazing! The server who assisted me was on the ball and verified my instructions about bagging one of the meals separately. I only ordered for pick up and didn't dine in, so all I can say about the atmosphere is that the floors were sticky, and the pickup counter could have used a wipe down. The kitchen, storage areas, and floor behind the counter, from what I could see, appeared disorganized and messy. It used to be a favorite restaurant of mine when I worked in Tyler, but now it seems old and run down. I am disappointed to say that it reminds me now of Grandy's. Great home cooking, but a messy, run-down environment. As long as the food doesn't suffer, I will still buy dinners here whenever I come to Tyler.“
“This place is by far the best chicken place I’ve had. The only other place that comes close is a burger joint in San Antonio called Hopdoddys. This place seasons their batter so the chicken isn’t bland and reliant on sauce to make their food taste good. Their fries are delicious, and their jar desserts are expensive but delicious. I’m very picky when it comes to fried chicken or fried mushrooms and this place checks all the boxes. Best of all is the amount of food you get for the price.“
“The food was great and the restaurant was very clean. I would also like to say that the waiters, Eddie and Jennifer were exceptional.. Eddie did everything in his power to make us happy.. He has an awesome work ethic and an awesome personality. I will definitely be “
“This is what every town needs, a home style spot that makes you feel like you are family. Passing through for work and stopped by for Sum 2 Eat and got Sum Good 2 Eat! Good was good not too over seasoned and fresh. The green, pinto beans and chicken were deliciousness. I didn't see anyone in there who didn't clean their plate. Definitely will come back if in the area again.“
