The food is great! Some of the freshest sushi and best prices to be found in Tyler. The booths have some obvious wear and tear that need some TLC. It’s definitely worth visiting if you are a sushi lover!

I was very disappointed. I took my husband for his birthday and I ordered lobster/hibachis grill. I saw the chef cutting the lobster in little pieces, then he started putting different sauces, I didn't want him to feel bad, so I didn't say anything. But it was gross. I was very very disappointed. Then I asked for onion soup and they gave me chicken broth with one onion and 1 slice of mushrooms. WTH just happened!

Walking it shows a dim laid back surrounding. The hostess was quite friendly and promptly seated me. The server was friendly and answered my questions regarding the menu items. I ordered pepper tuna and a smoked salmon roll. Complimentary chicken stock soup and ginger dressing salad arrived shortly after I placed my order. The soup was as expected. Chicken stock soup. I can't testify to the taste of the salad. It became take out for my wife at home. The pepper tuna had about 3 tablespoons of rice topped with the tuna. The plate came with 2. $8 seemed a little steep for the quantity. Taste was average. The smoked salmon had grainy rice.

I have been here many times as well as brought family members with me before. Tonight we were celebrating my oldest sons 17th birthday and it was the worst experience. Waitress was confused and lied about prices and because of the fact we have 4 kids we got popped with a gratituity fee. So if you have more than 3 kids don't go! They will hit you for an automatic 18% fee. And expect the bill to be higher when ordering alcoholic drinks. She definitely padded her tip tonight with us.

I was very shocked that after we paid for steak and shrimp dinners that we had up charges for fried rice when it was cooked in front of us, who does that are we not already paying enough? That Ribeye was nothing but fat and that was a uncharged too. Very disappointed

Yamato has always been my favorite place to get sushi, It is so amazing and service is excellent. I came here for my birthday and was overall satisfied and they brought pineapple with whipped cream, (I'm allergic to pineapple but it was still super sweet) which was very nice of them to bring. I will keep coming here.

Journey was our SUPER waitress ~ she was so kind & helpful. It was like we were BFFs or something right off the get go!
We had always ate at the hibachi side ~ we decided we liked the sushi side better.
The food, as usual, was delish!! I've ALWAYS loved that there's such big big portions that I can have like 3 meals out of one plate.
1000000/10 would recommend! Ask for Journey ~ she’s a blessing for sure!
