The food was absolutely delicious- we had Tammy's Meatloaf, Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Seasonal Veggies, and a Grilled Chicken Caesar, the atmosphere was beautiful-we enjoyed our dinner for two so much-would highly recon this to any one needing good food and beautiful restaurant
Tonight my server was a sweet young woman, courteous while taking my order. Steak was mid. So I get the chef's menu idea. But I'm not into food waste. So if I say I don't want mashed potatoes then just leave it off the plate. It does nothing to insult the cook. I want to be rude to the wait staff over this but, when you plate the steak on the potatoes I get bits of it stuck to what I want to eat the STEAK. The broccoli was fine side salad fine. I order the steak medium rare and the crown and tail of the steak were but the center was just shy of well. Not sure how that even works. Pad of butter yeah I understand why that's done to enhance the flavor never had to use those myself but, if your local clientele likes it cool. Of this was the first time I was here I wouldn't be so confused by the way the steak was cooked but it's not. So simple ask don't waste food, provide temp requested and give customers a knife that can cut the meat.
Was told that a renowned Austin chef brought his culinary skills to the small town of Uvalde, TX, but honestly, I was not impressed. The flame-grilled ribeye was a very poor cut of meat and overly salty, as the garlic butter overpowered any flavor of the meat. The salmon was dry and lacked flavor. His twist on southwest Alfredo simply missed the mark. The most disappointing part was that this renowned chef didn’t have the common courtesy to stop by and introduce himself while walking around the restaurant. Overpriced and underdelivered. Not impressed and will not recommend. Perhaps there was a reason he left Austin.
Miss the old menu, the old charm, now you make Uvalde feel like Austin, and that's not good. But I'm just a person who believes don't fix what ain't broke.
Beautiful restaurant and atmosphere but I don’t think we will return. Food was mediocre. I ordered the tequila lime chicken and there wasn’t a drop of flavor on the chicken, tasted like a rotisserie chicken, no hint of lime or tequila & very dry. My sister in law is allergic to tomatoes and couldn’t order a burger or half the things on the menu because they have a “no modification” policy to “get the full flavor profile” of each menu item, even if there are allergies involved. They have good intentions behind the restaurant and menu but it’s sad that they can’t accommodate, due to personal opinions. The chips & dip appetizer doesn’t seem to have fresh queso, it seemed old and coagulated. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive and forgot a drink til we were finished, although she did provide water for everyone. No kids menu, had to order kids food from sides options. Wouldn’t recommend to others & won’t return.
Awesome food
We ordered the ribeye steak, it was so salty! I could not really taste the steak. I couldn’t eat it! My husband ate it because when I brought to the girls attention, she said”oh I didn’t know it was so salty!” We are staying in Uvalde for work but will not be back here! Loys of opportunities to improve!!!
Hot inside, flies... cold food. Do not recommend.
You will love the combination of flavors Chef Billy Joe puts together, do your tastebuds a favor and visit him!
We had a family group of 10 and ate here today for lunch. Some of us had breakfast items and some had lunch. Food was fantastic! Service was excellent! We had everything from smash burgers, pancakes, salmon bowl, omelet and the biscuits and sausage gravy. All feedback was smiles and happy full tummies. This was the first time we ate here and will look forward to coming back. Also, the prices were good for great food. It was a treat for us! Thank you!!!

We were very disappointed in the food. The restaurant is very pretty with its art deco sign and interior. But, the food was just not very tasty. The staff was very nice. This could be a great eatery if the flavors were kicked up a bit. It kinda reminds me of flavor profiles from Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota. This is Texas, we like bold flavors.

We have eaten twice at the new location. Our first visit was outstanding with great food and service. Our second visit, today, was not as great. We both ordered the carne guisada plate. My husband's food was served steaming hot and had perfectly cooked over-medium eggs. My plate was tepid and the eggs were overdone to the point of being tough. And who serves carne guidafa without tortillas? Staff was friendly, facilities very clean and attractive. Hopefully next visit will have a better outcome.
