“After a day of driving, we found this to be the perfect place for a dogbound couple to relax and dine in a beautiful patio with exceptionally well manicured landscaping. Literally an oasis in the large expanse of West Texas desert. The food was pretty good too.”
“I was present when the review of Kim Stevens was there. The waitress was very polite and asked her if she wanted to replace it. She just kept saying how gross it was but they didn’t have a problem, eating all their burgers. This is the case of overprivileged white people. This restaurant is authentic Mexican food, and the Chile con queso is not Velveeta and rotel. If you want something of that caliber, I suggest going to Chili’s or Applebee’s.”
“After a hot day swimming at Balmorhea (and in advance of climbing Guadalupe the next day), my girlfriend and I were in need of mass quantities of carbohydrates (shout out Beldar!). We popped into Cactus Cantina in Van Horn, and let's just say we had the most amazing time. What a bar! Great sports on the television screens, friendly bartenders, and an incredibly eclectic crowd (including some very interesting people who work at the local aerospace organization). The appetizers were fantastic, the perfect sports pub greasy snack. The bar had a very broad selection of everything, and I even had two shots of liqueurs I had never previously tried. The wonderful finale of the evening was a large pepperoni and jalapeno pizza we took back to our hotel across the street: magnificent! Great bar, guys, stay cool.”
“We stopped on our way through town back to Arizona and were seated very quickly. Everything came out great! Very good value and quality. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. My only regret is I didn't leave room for cobbler and ice cream.”

“Small, intimate family run restaurant. Spotless and comfortable with very friendly service. Excellent tasty home cooked Mexican menu. Thoroughly enjoyed the flautas and the green chile chicken enchiladas. Food arrived piping hot. Don’t think you’ll find a better meal in Van Horn.”
