Bosque Cantina Reviews
Drove down from Granbury to see the Adam Carolla show at the Rattlesnake last night and got dinner at Bosque Cantina. Easily some of the best Tex-Mex we've had in a while, and we wouldn't hesitate to make the drive just for dinner.
Very beautiful and clean inside, with delicious food, and friendly staff!
I eat there so much my Spanish has improved

Bosque Cantina is a real gem for exceptional Mexican food in Walnut Springs, a blink-and-you-miss-it little town along Texas State Highway 144. Right on the corner of 3rd St (SH 144) and Norway, this quaint, unassuming storefront with a Walnut Springs mural on the side of the building offers some of the best Mexican food in many, many miles, with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.
The food receives high praise. The Fajitas (beef, chicken and shrimp) and the Carne Asada are excellent. The Fajitas Famosas come out steaming and sizzling on the hot plate, filling the dining area with that unmistakable aroma, with perfect seasoning, tender yet with a great char on the meat and the vegetables, accompanied by fresh tortillas, pico, guac and sour cream. The Ribeye Carne Asada is a tender, well charred ribeye steak bursting with flavor, covered in charred onions and ranchero sauce. The fajitas are fabulous, with steak tender, shrimp perfectly cooked, and chicken not dry. The carne asada is stellar, and the cheese enchiladas are some of the best. Sweet tea, mix drinks, and recommended drinks from the bar are enjoyed.
The service is welcoming, friendly, and engaging, making guests feel like they walked into a gathering of friends. The interior dining area is terrific and nicely decorated. Food, service, and atmosphere are all outstanding, and the little things set this place apart. Even with a long wait when the town was packed, the wait was worth it. It is well worth the detour, and highly recommended as an authentic small-town cantina and one of the best experiences anywhere in Texas.
