Always hits the spot for SD style Mexican food.My 1 and only very small suggestion would be make the hottest red hot sauce without habanero. The herbaceous flavor isn’t common in SD style food.Also maybe poke holes or cut the corners off the top-go containers to keep things like Chips and Fries from getting soggy.
It was our first experience at vaqueros today. My boyfriend and I had been talking about trying out this spot for weeks, and boy am I glad we did. I have no complaints. Clean and open floor space, killer salsa bar featuring marinated onions/carrots & 4 different kinds of salsa… HUGE portions bursting with flavor. Sneaky great takeout place. Big portions. Nice menu. Serious eats. People say SoCal Mexican style, but I have no idea. Food is gooood. Salsa bar has some pizzazz. Don't eat in, though. Place reeks of surface cleaner. Good to know they clean but a bit much. They need to get serious and open up a legit restaurant. They would rake.
