Food was seasoned well and cooked to the appropriate temperature; however it arrived room temperature, almost as if it had been sitting around for a good 10 minutes in the kitchen waiting to be delivered. Portions were generous, but will not likely be dining here again when we stay at Hotel Viata.
We enjoyed the drinks, burrata and salmon. The papardelle bolognese was below average (there was a lot of brisket(?) and fat, and no red sauce. A standard, say, spaghetti bolognese would sell and taste better.
Laurel is a hidden gem! A great experience each time I dine there! Beautiful location, delicious food, and great service! Highly recommend!
The staff and service all worked well together. Our brunch experience was great. A wonderful time and enjoyable experience to celebrate a birthday
The Biscuits and Chorizo Gravy were amazing. Our server was very nice and accommodating. Some items differed from the example menus that we saw online such as the special juices. They were offering these when we dined. Also, it would be helpful to see the Kid's Menu on the website.
Our waiter Simo was absolutely amazing. So kind and attentive. He took great care of our table and made the birthday we were celebrating feel extra special. Food was fantastic! Loved it all!
We had the tasting menu and it was fabulous. Truly rivaled Pasta Bar(RIP). 1. The arancini were perfect, 2. The tuna sashimi was very tasty but slightly frozen. 3. The bruschetta was amazing paired with the infused butter 4.The kale with hot honey and goat cheese burrata was the star of the show ( we are not kale people and yet loved this salad). 5. The wagu was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes were simple yet one of my favorites. 6. The cannolis were slightly tough but the chocolate and vanilla fillings were amazing. All in all it was a great meal.
We did a prepaid Father's Day experience which was advertised to include a full buffet, a Tesla driving experience, and Johnny Walker pairings. Valet booth was empty for 5 minutes on arrival, and no staff at the restaurant area for a while. The buffet was limited to one small table: 2 types of sandwiches, and small sides. The Tesla experience was cancelled, and there was no mention by staff of the whiskey tastings. This felt like something for the hotel guests to come down to, not something for visitors to enjoy. Felt pretty duped. Our waiter tried his best to live up to mismatched expectations since he could tell something was not right. None of the food itself was bad, but felt wrong from the onset. No mention of reduced pricing when we asked about what is going on. Felt like completely false advertising and was a very disappointing experience considering we don't live close and drove far out to this “event”.
The restaurant only had 5 or so tables booked at 7:30 on a Saturday night. There were only 2 servers and they couldn't keep up. Plus the bar took 25 minutes to deliver a cocktail. The food was mediocre at best.
SIMO was awesome waiter. We did the food experience and the food was above average but came out timely and portions were ok. The mixed drinks were not very good, we stuck with wine. Their Pizza was pretty good too.
Restaurantji Recommends
The appetizer and our drinks were fantastic, as was the service. Our main courses (herb chicken and the bolognese) were not very good at. The chicken was well cooked, but bland. The bolognese was not very flavorful. It was just OK. For the price, we expected better food.
Learned about this place because of a weekend brunch they have. The meatballs were tasty but came to the table cold. The pizza and salad was flavorable but nothing memorable. The countryside views were better from the rooftop of the parking lot than the outdoor space that was not clean with debris and broken furniture. They had a great walk of art near the bathroom.
Reservation was close to closing time, but the service was still amazing. Food is amazing and the homemade pasta actually the rigatoni with vodka sauce, chefs kiss.
The service was stupendous and our host made great recommendations. It was a lovely anniversary and thank you for the flowers.
Food was okay..I appreciate the quality of ingredients, but execution wasn't awesome and flavor was lacking. The matcha lattes were an absolute joke. Tasted like whole milk with green dye and dirt in them. Omelette was petty average. I expected more.
