The person helping us had a terrible attitude from the beginning. Even while trying to be nice to her she was still terrible. I like the owners, they seem to be nice but this one person was far from it. Our whole party felt the same way. Regarding the food, it was mediocre at best. The location is very dated and could use a nice cleaning. Owner should invest a little in making the place more appealing. Also, after all these years I’m surprised they still use the same basic styrofoam plates. For $100 on just 4 meals, drinks and tip I would expect something a bit nicer, even if it were paper plates. It must be tough to run a restaurant and I really wanted it to be better after not visiting in a while but I was left underwhelmed. Unless changes are made unfortunately I wont be back. Wishing them the best.

Its been a while since I went here. But, the pasteles and rice and gandules tasted exactly like my Puerto Rican grandma used to make!! It takes me right back to my childhood in NY, when all the family was together.Food is such an important part of one's culture. I'm excited to try more authentic foods and share a bit of my culture with my children. I'm also interested in making some recipes in my own kitchen, but, like to try the unfamiliar dishes first, so, I know what to expect.See y'all soon! I know what I'll be trying! ????

Very welcoming staff. We got inside and it was busy, no seats were available. But we understood because we know the food will be worth it. Nevertheless, it didn’t take long for us to get a table.Food was excellent. Flavors that you don’t really taste in other Latin cuisines. Something about it that’s indescribable. First of all, they added an A/C unit to the dining room. Outside is 103, inside 70?Outstanding mofongo con camarón. Choose the creole sauce. Loved the empanadas! Staff was welcoming and helpful. Worth the drive ???
