So this place has been on my places to visit since moving to Denison. They did not disappoint!! Exceptional service, great food, great atmosphere for Date Night and a vibe for sure. It was a pleasure to finally go to a place where they are truly committed to going above with their service standards and beyond with their guests. Last minute emergency need for 21st birthday party. Mel was very, very helpful and rented the big room to them for the same evening! He set up tables and chairs and helped in every way he could! Mell's is superb, full stop and Mic drop. Don't let the apparent lack of parking deter you, this is well worth dealing with that inconvenience I promise.Our meal tonight was blackened catfish and blackened shrimp, both were phenomenal and I have to say the catfish was the best I've ever eaten. Red beans were awesome as well.Mell and the staff are super-friendly and want your experience to be a great one, we will be back and hope to see you there!Parking: The big lot behind Mel's is reserved but there are other smaller lots available and street parking is ok.

On first glance the atmosphere doesn't seem like much, but the second you meet Mell and smell the food you know this place is a winner. I had the crab cakes, they were incredible. Highly recommend giving this place a try!! It's BYOB and a great place to hang out.
