“The BEST cheeseburger basket - so many fries - that we've had in a long time. Seriously, so good! Maybe we thought it was so good because we just hiked Peekaboo+Spooky, but I snarfed my basket down. I'm a big French Fry girl and there were so many, I actually couldn't eat them all. And didn't get me started on the ice cream. Delish!“
“We LOVED this hotel. We were greeted with a warm welcome by Tari at the front desk. She was helpful, friendly and professional. Three of us stayed in one room that had 2 large beds. The rooms are spacious and clean. We used the hot tub, which was nice after a day of hiking. The breakfast the next morning had lots of variety, hot and cold. There is a coffee maker in the room that uses k-cup pods, in which there was several to use, but you could bring your favorite if needed. I forgot a personal item in the room after we checked out. Tari contacted us and sent the item to my home. She went above and beyond!“
“Our group of 12 stayed at the guest house and we are at the Sweetwater Kitchen. Both places are amazing! We had the best steak, trout tacos, pasta, polenta fries, chicken, and desserts!! So delicious, and such great service! Will for sure plan a trip around this place again!“
“This place was an incredible find. It's located west of Escalante, UT, but it's off the main road (UT-12) and there's no sign visible from the road; you have to go maybe a half-mile down some dirt roads. It's located at the Slot Canyon Inn, which does have a visible sign. It has maybe 8-12 tables, all outdoors. Both the food and the service were impeccable. First rate. I had the Chile Relleno with Oaxacan Mole, stuffed with rice and tomato and covered with a variety of seeds and Mexican cheese, and it was wonderful. My wife had the special, which was a half-rack of baby back ribs with a marinade of fresh peaches (picked by the chef), mustard, and just a bit of habanero, accompanied by really great beans and collard greens. All of the tables are outdoors, which shouldn't pose a problem most of the time in this area and gives you fabulous views in all directions. Prices were very reasonable. Entrees ("large plates") were in the $20-30 range. The wine we had, Bogle Cabernet, was $10/glass. You won't find this place by just cruising. Your GPS will take you to the door, though. It's worth the trip!“
