Have been eating here for years. Stopped by the other day. Very subpar food. Waitress took my order, delivered my food and then my check. Never checked back with me. Menu cut in half. Maybe new ownership. They used to serve a pork green chili sauce that was to die for. Not any more. Won't be back
Gem of an old school diner. Extremely clean establishment with tasty burgers. It's worth the drive past the newer gas stations and fast food joints at the west exit.
Went for breakfast and they were not open. Found out later they had staffing issues which apparently are not uncommon. Ate there the next morning and breakfast was VERY good. They also have a liquor store in the front "lobby" area that was advertised to be open until 10 PM. But it is NOT open unless the restaurant is open, and the one night we went over to peruse the selections (around 9) it was locked up tight.
It's a shame that this place closes at 2. I was just traveling through and happen to get there five minutes before closing. I was grateful that they accepted my order although the burger that I ordered didn't come out to expectation. It was dry and overdone. And the fries honestly tasted old. I did feel the animosity coming from the staff and it seems like it was all a results because of what time I arrived. Maybe if I get there early in the morning I'll see a more friendly welcoming staff oh, and the food would be better
Overcooked both my steak and the eggs. This after my server sat and chatted instead of taking my order for 15 minutes. Server never bothered to check if food was ok, in fact ignored me outright even when I tried getting her attention to get the check. I left no tip and I won't be back.
Bless their hearts, the waitress was so sweet. But i can confidently say(I'm from Texas) that i had the worst chicken fried steak in my entire life from here. Don't waste your money.
Terrible , Terrible service. Acted like it was an imposition to accommodate my wheelchair. When we mentioned to the other waitress how rude the first one was she told us we were free to leave. They had a bus full of people so I guess they make more money on them! Just talked to a family of 5 who left the restaurant right after we did because of poor service. They were told they were free to leave also.
I would like to leave advice for the staff. Are you making good tips? If not then it would help if you would promptly greet people at least with a few words. Don't act like it is an inconvenience to get up from the back table and serve your paying customers. The service was nonexistant, the vibe was cold and the food wasn't good either.
Don't waste your time and money here. Staff just sitting around Playing cards. After I was seated I was ignored. 15 mins to take my order and I was the only one there. Only when I got up to leave did they come over. The breakfast I ordered wasn't great either. Once the food finally came they never came by to check on me or fill my empty coffee. I stood up at the cash register to get their attention and it was to much of a bother for me to pay, I guess I interpreted their conversation.Closes at 2. There are other options in town avaible keep driving.
I stayed at the Travelodge next door and got a 10% discount. The service was excellent and the Traditional Breakfast was excellent. A must stop for breakfast when in the area!

First off, the server was wonderful- so sweet, polite and very apologetic for our wait time. We got there around the same time as several other diners, and we ordered right away but then had to wait nearly an hour for our food. And the food was awful. I had a French dip and my partner had a philly, on both the roast beef was cut way too thick and it was so tough it was hard to take a bite out of the sandwich. The fries were pretty good. And the nice waitress took 10•/• off our check since we had to wait so long. I would not go back tho.
If you are passing by, staying in or stuck in (like we are) Green River give this place a try. Breakfast is great and the coffee good. I hear it’ll be torn down and replaced by a Wendy’s which is a shame With a little sprucing up to make it more attractive to passerbyers I think it would have a chance of staying in business
When reading reviews thought it would be a good place to try. We must have caught them on an off day. My daughter had pancakes eggs and sausage. Pancakes and sausage were good but the eggs were drenched in butter as were mine with my chicken fried steak which was possibly the worst thing I have ever been served at any restaurant! I drive truck over the road so that is really saying alot. On the plus side their sausage gravy was good as were the hash browns. By the way the dog wouldn't even eat the chicken fried steak.
We are truck drivers and passing thru. Just kinda stumbled on it. But it is a cute, quiet homie western feel cafe. The food was great and big size portions. Staff was on it keeping the coffee filled. I would definitely stop back by on our way rolling back thru. ?
Visiting with my family from the U.K. and staying in the motel next door. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast at West Winds. My son had a huge fluffy pancake and I had French toast and eggs. The coffee was hot and topped up regularly. (We don’t get that in the U.K.) The waitress was so kind and friendly. She made us feel very welcome. The decor is authentic and we loved the chatty bikers and truckers calling in too!
