Makizushi knocked it out of the park! The staff was friendly, respectful, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The food was fantastic, packed with flavor, and the portions didn’t disappoint. We left stuffed and completely satisfied. Zero complaints — just a great place to grab a meal.

This is by far, the absolute worst sushi I have ever had. I genuinely do not believe it is even safe to eat. Let alone flavor and put together is a good way. It was also nearly 50 dollars for four rolls.

I am so confused by our experience with this place, especially seeing the positive reviews... I am never one to arbitrarily criticize a restaurant and post a bad review but we spent $45 on sushi that went straight into the trash.
It started when pulling up to the restaurant I realize it’s a small counter inside Granatos.. sharing a space with a Chilean food counter? This is not a sushi restaurant… I walk up to the counter and ask the two teenagers working about a take out order and they Gen Z stare at me like I’ve just spoken gibberish… after repeating myself a couple of times and looking around like I’m in the twilight zone, they point at the small sushi counter next to the register with empty sushi mats on it and say it hasn’t been made yet. At this point we had ordered 30 minutes prior, which is fine, I’m fine waiting so I sit.
One of the teenagers proceeds to start making the sushi…. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone except an experienced sushi chef make sushi, let alone a teenager, and boy could you tell. The sushi had the thickest layer of rice I’ve ever seen and the rice was mushy and tasted weird. The jalapeños in the roll came from a can…. The fish tasted so bad we couldn’t even eat it. We took two bites and threw the whole thing away.
The most concerning part to me is that although the teenagers were wearing gloves to handle our food, the girl making the sushi had no hair net on and her hair down. That is a huge sanitary issue for me. We will not be returning unless improvements are made. $45 is too much money to spend on inedible food and unsafe sanitary handling of food by kids.

Ordered online for pickup. Got there and apparently they could t fulfil the order and didn’t have the courtesy of calling or emailing or texting. Zero stars for customer service even if their food might be great. So much for trying to support small local businesses.

We did sushi take out. The worst sushi I’ve ever had. Absolutely disgusting and thick layer of sushi rice. Even my kids refused to eat them. Most of it ended up in the trash.

Didn’t expect much and was extremely underwhelmed. Fish was anything but fresh. They were out of most of the mix ins and portion size was very small. Had hoped to find a neighborhood gem but definitely will not return any time soon. Was extremely happy when I didn’t get food poisoning
Doesn’t have accurate store hours. Waited 30min for a guy to walk out and tell me it’s closed after I already payed for pickup. Now I have to go through the refund process. Not fun…

I love the quality of the sushi. The owners are really nice and kind. Also, so cool to get sushi and ceviche in the same place!!!! The ginger basil drink is good and refreshing. If I could eat here everyday of my life, I would.
