I have been going to the one close to liberty for years. Tried the one in holladay since it is closer to me. Ordered DoorDash and had many issues. If you’re charging almost $8 for an orange juice please give the whole order to the dasher please. Ordered the ham hash. Things just got worse from here, my egg was completely fried and overcooked. Unable to be eaten except for the yolk, this is a major part of this dish and putting that in my box was unacceptable. I’ve worked in MANY restaurants and that is a very easy thing to spot and remake. This doesn’t even taste like the same dish that it used to be, overuse of the aioli, so much that I almost missed the giant hair that decided to join me for breakfast. I don’t make many reviews but ew all around.

Food yummy but no service. Coffee infilled. Order at counter and pay 18 percent auto service fee??? Brazen. Especially for a McDonald's feel.

Loved this place. They were super sweet to out dog and the service was great in general. Everyone loved their food from my two kids who got waffles, my husband who got a scramble bowl, and I especially loved my shrimp Po boy. I just wish the bread was able to hold everything. I had to cut it and eat it but still really good.

Strange setup to order food and then sit down. Kinda like fast food but everyone's just standing around the front door. As far as food goes I ordered the chicken sandwich as I've been on a chicken sandwich kick. This one ranks as one of the worst ones I've had. Just flavorless. Also never order the beignets. The dipping sauce is good but the beignets themselves were just disgusting undercooked dense balls of dough.

The photo tells the whole story. Scrumptious, Flavorful food, that is so good, you wipe the bowl clean with the toast. Delish. 11/10 recommend the chimichuri plate. ? what an excellent place to grab lunch, lively homey interior, and kind staff. A new favorite brunch spot. Try it out, you won’t be disappointed ?

I love this place. The food is timely and the outdoor seating is on a side street so it feels like you're in the neighborhood. I'd like to say they're not super vegan friendly, but by its name it should be obvious. Unless your my girlfriend's sister who thought omelets are egg free for some reason? The awkwardness of finishing the delicious green eggs and ham is washed away by tasty mimosas and contact free payment options.

Food was great environment not so much. Takes a long time to get a seat, you feel like you’re being bombarded with social propaganda everywhere, kind of unique that they make you pay for your meal before you receive it or even sit down. Likely won’t be back, but was glad I stopped in and tried it once.

The food is great, I always get the chicken and waffles! Yes you order up front and yes they add an 18% gratuity but if you go into it knowing that then it's not that big of a deal - I'm all for giving our service workers better pay. I'm in the area once a month for work and always go here for at least one of my breakfasts. As for table service, they seem to come by frequently enough to ask if I want more coffee/need anything else so no complaints there either. All in all I recommend giving this quirky place a try!

They're new business model is a little off-putting. It's now counter service with a limited menu. The ordering was confusing, as we had begun our order on their app that says "order here" then we were told to order only at the counter. Refunds had to be issued for things already paid for in the app. Service was okay, not great. We didn't get coffee refills in a timely manner and had to ask multiple times. The worst was when we asked for a to-go box, the server said "over there" and pointed three feet behind them instead of politely handing us one that was in their reach. An 18% tip is added automatically to the bill which takes away the guests ability to tip accordingly. Food is pretty good, but it's not a great place to have brunch because of the weird ordering and lack of service.

I've come here for several years and at some point they went to a "look at the menu at the host stand and place your order and pay then we will seat you" process versus having full table service. The issue is that they NEVER go back to the tables and check on you. More coffee? Get up and ask. More creamer with that coffee you got up to ask for? Nope, you needed to ask for that as well again if you wanted the server to bring you more. It really sucks and while I can understand the need to make efficient use of staff, I think these kinds of systems and processes take away from what makes a restaurant great, the food AND the customer experience. I can scan to order and pay. I can order and pay before I even get a table. What do I scan to get service or a good experience??

Having been here a few years ago when it wasn't cafe style dining, I was underwhelmed with the service. The food was good but it all came out at different times. There were 4 of us. Our entrees came out 10 minutes apart and the appetizers came in between. The new way of ordering was fine but the hostess needs to do a much better job explaining how it works to people who haven't been there since the change. Overall the server that came and explained everything was very friendly. I think the issue here lies with the hostess' lack of communication with costumers. We waited forever to get boxes and we were finally able to waive a server down to ask, she informed us they were at a self serve station. I gave 3 stars because the food was as good as I remember. If this review was strictly based on service, it would be a 1 start review. I kept thinking, wouldn't it be easier to just have people order at the table from their phones??? Bypass ordering at the counter all together and have the hostess do a little bit more explaining when she seats a table. We heard several other tables complaining about the awkward ordering so I think that area could use some fine tuning. I'm still not sure how refills on water work...

Pig & a Jelly Jar needs to decide if it wants to be a casual dining experience or a fast-food experience. They have customers order at the front like fast food but charge them a service fee as if it’s casual dining. The owner claims in other reviews that “The gratuity is to give everyone on our staff equal share of tips, and to get customers helped out as quickly as possible.” If the owner was concerned about equal pay, they would pay their staff more. As for their claim of “as quickly as possible,” the staff are unmotivated by their “guaranteed tip” and service is slow due to it. The only time the staff were present was when they delivered the drinks and meals that took longer to come out than they should have. Nobody was available to provide refills on drinks or other necessities. One might think the food would be the saving grace of this fast-casual restaurant, but that unfortunately is not the case. The selections were unique from other restaurants, but even with the variety of items on one’s plate, the food still lacked flavor. The economy may be harsh right now, but customers can find cheaper meals with more flavor elsewhere. All things considered, this restaurant was very clean and comfortable to sit in.

I got the ham hash with a side of hollandaise sauce yooooo that was probably the most flavorful hollandaise sauce I've ever had I wanted to lick my box of food when I got home it was so good The Ham hash was great This place serves some of the best breakfast in slc

Charges 18% gratuity on everything, including take out orders. Will agree to remove gratuity and then 10 minutes later come back and say they will just charge it back to your card. Buyer beware - they insist on the fee and will charge your card without authorization to do so. I talked to the manager and they ended up saying they wouldn't go back and add it to my card. Food was also lackluster, but it's mainly the service that was the problem.

Pig & a Jelly Jar has the magical touch when it comes to fried chicken. It is neither overdone nor underdone, it is neither over-battered nor under-battered. Using fresh, ethically sourced chicken in a home-style establishment creates reminiscence of home. Married with jams, maple syrup, and an incredible cinnamon cream topping for the waffle on the side makes Pig & a Jelly Jar's chicken and waffles second -to-none. Note to the owner: Please keep the restaurant open in the evening and offer $5 chicken and waffle take-out specials at least once a week.
