My family was visiting Kanab for Thanksgiving and we appreciated that Vermillion 45 was open on the holiday. We were seated promptly and informed that there was a fixed Thanksgiving meal for $45 per adult, which we understood and accepted given the occasion.
Unfortunately, the service we received made the experience very disappointing. Our server was rude and short with several members of our group. When one couple simply asked if splitting a plate was allowed, the response was, “I don’t know how much you eat,” which felt very unprofessional. My girlfriend is gluten free, and when she asked if the meal was safe for her, the response was, “Just the roll is gluten, but you can just take that off the plate,” in a similarly dismissive tone.
When our food arrived, we noticed inconsistencies: some plates had more rolls than others, and nearly every plate at our table was missing Brussels sprouts, while other nearby tables received them. These details made us feel like our large group was treated differently.
Then, when the checks came, there was an unexpected $10 charge added for splitting a meal — something never mentioned beforehand. We were told it was due to extra dishes, despite being given paper plates. The hostess was kind enough to remove the charge when we brought it up, which we appreciated, but it was still a frustrating surprise.
We were grateful to have a place open on Thanksgiving, but due to the poor service and undisclosed fees, this is not a place we would return to or recommend.

I find that the additional charge for sharinga plate of anything humorous. A very unique charge. I would recommend Sego miles above this food. Owner is a tad tight with our reviews.

Food is delicious. It is more on the pricey side, but totally worth it. We've been multiple times and have been very happy with the experience every time.

Female server was gruff but got the job done (authentic french experience now that i think about it). Chocolate mousse was good 5/5. French Onion Soup 4/5, Salmon Ratatouille 4/5. We enjoyed the seats next to the windows so we could see outside. Noise level was fine. both times we’ve eaten here It’s because they were one of the only places open and it was fine. Food is really rich of course (it’s french), so don’t plan any rigorous activities afterwards.

Had dinner here recently and was VERY pleased with the food. I had the pork chop on mashed potatoes with pan gravy.
Absolutely wonderful. The service however was seriously underwhelming.
I have never felt less welcome in any restaurant any where. My waitress made me we feel like I was a serious annoyance.
I thought it was just me but everyone got the same treatment. I'll go back next time im in town and hope the staff has found some new blood. What a shame.

We were very surprised with this Gem! The service was great. The drinks, Beef Bourguignon and Rigatoni were tasty. The Scallop Risotto was outstanding as was the Chocolate Mousse! We were very glad we tried this place and will do so again when back in town. Highly recommend if you are looking for a higher-end restaurant.

Chocolate mousse was good but my partner had the Chocolate fondue which was so bad he couldn't eat it. Waitress looked at us like we had grown two heads (each..) when we asked if we could come just for dessert. Quite abrupt service. Although the place was empty except for 2 other tables, it was clear we werent wanted. Bill was brought as we were still eating dessert. The chardonnay was bad.

How can you ruin French Onion Soup..!?? The Chef (allegedly Italian that was trained in France) makes his onion soup in 5 min… literally. He fries onion, adds some broth plus flower or other thickener, covers it with a ton of cheese… and voila! Same goes with his Boeuf Bourguignon - it wasn’t slow cooked like they advertise their dishes - it was put together in minutes with freshly boiled potatoes and again same broth with MAGIC thickener 🤪 don’t fall for this trap 🪤

The food was excellent — fresh, well-made, and full of flavor. Service was also great; attentive and welcoming from start to finish. Honestly, I was surprised that we were the only ones in the restaurant because the quality definitely deserves more attention. A hidden gem worth checking out!

What a great find in a small town! We were shocked with the fabulous food, spaghetti and meatballs were amazing, my husband had the salmon and the cook was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. If you’re in Kanab, try this restaurant, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed! 🙌
