The sign on the door said it is closed. Apparently the lease ran out. Looks like they may be tearing the building down. Hopefully it reopens somewhere else. The food was pretty good.

Really sad that this place is closing. The best Szechuan restaurant in salt lake. Try the boiled fish, the eggplant and the lamb with cumin.

Last week was our first time we went to this excellent restaurant. But It is absolutely not the last. We enjoyed the evening very much with the courteous service, with the exceptional meal and wine and with the comfortable pay. We will definitely return there soon.

My husband discovered this restaurant at least 10-12 years ago, since then we have been dropping by or to-go-ing foods once in a while. Their Mongolian Beef is our most favorite.

My husband discovered this restaurant at least 10-12 years ago, since then we have been dropping by or to-go-ing foods once in a while. Their Mongolian Beef is our most favorite. So this weekend 6 of us went for a late lunch around 3 pm. And as the the restaurant was pretty much empty, we were served immediately and warmly. Once we finished ordering, our server suggested us to move to a bigger table with a lazy susan (which was a good call). She also checked in regularly to make sure we were doing ok and brought us more rice the moment she noticed we were almost out. We started with the Beef Soup. It was great, basically the egg drop soup with small pieces of tofu, minced beef, carrots and peas. For main course we ordered the Authentic Chinese Shrimp Stir Fry, Beijing Style Lamb Hotpot, Beef Stew and Tendon Soft Noodles and finally our all time favorite ...the Mongolian Beef. If you are new here you might be surprised to see their Shrimp Stir Fry as it doesn't have any spices or flavors expected with the stir fry style. But it's a simple dish with big portions and and large shrimps. The Beijing Style Lamb Hotpot was made with clear broth and glass noodles...it was delicious and very refreshing. We were little surprised with the Beef Stew and Tendons Soft Noodles dish though, it was rather on the sweet side...but then again, we don't have much knowledge about the authentic Chinese dishes :P We ALWAYS order the Mongolian Beef from here. It is really flavorful, with a healthy amount of spice, and they don't bombard the dish with sweet onions like most other restaurants do. It's great with white rice. We are always happy with the service here. Every time we come, we try to order some new items from the menu...some we like, some we don't. But overall a great place with LOTS of options and big portion sizes. Sad that they will be shutting down this place next month :(

I was excited to visit this place, I've heard such great things. I was ready to love it, but my experience was a little disappointing. The location itself is a bit divey - but all hidden gems seem to have this quality, so it doesn't phase me. It was pretty hot in here, which is the opposite problem most restaurants have. We were seated immediately, our waitress was the only one who seemed to be waiting tables today, but there were maybe only 2 other tables busy, this place was deserted. She handed us menus and walked away halfway though our drink order and just brought out water. Half - literally half - the items on the menu are crossed out by hand, which I thought was charming, but the most delicious looking items on the menu were no longer available :/ We immediately noticed the waitress was taking a long time. We sat probably 15 minutes before she came back to take our order. The food took a while, and one entree came out about 10 minutes after the rest of the food. The proportions are very large, the bowl of wonton soup was huge, it came with a ladle and smaller bowls to share with everyone. It was pretty good! I also got the Mongolian beef, which was tasty, but the meat seemed very fatty. The kung pao chicken was also good, but the meat had a strange rubbery quality and seemed like it was processed. The rice was nice and sticky. Overall the flavor was good. We sat and waited and waited for our waitress to come back, the sweltering heat just added to the frustration. We had our card ready when she brought the check out and asked for takeout boxes, she made a separate and painfully slow trip for each request. While I was waiting, I read some glowing yelp reviews about this place, it seems like take-out may be where this place shines. I also saw they are closing this February, does anyone know if that's true? There are still some other things I would love to try.

The place is clean. Waitress very new. The chef could have helped since it was empty. Food is oily. We had the cashew chicken and beef hot pot. Beef was chewy and very tough to eat. I've been told this is how the beef shank is cooked.

We really enjoy the authentic family style Chinese food. We love the Walnut shrimp, fried rice, cashew chicken and the family serving of egg drop soup. The wait staff is darling.

We dropped in to try it out and were pleased to have the best service and most delicious Chinese meal in a long time. We ordered #114 beef stir fried flat rice noodle, #112 Shrimp stir dried noodles, #109 Shanghai fried noodles. They were served hot, fast, and a good family portion. We will definitely be back. Our waitress suggested #114 saying it was her favorite. It is now ours too. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked too.

I travel a lot. So I get to try many Chinese restaurants in other cities. Sweet Ginger might be good among others in Salt Lake area. However I still am looking for real good Chinese restaurant in Salt Lake area.

The food here was top notch, right out of the pan, and service was very efficient and friendly. The location of this restaurant is also very convenient. There was a very wide variety of options, and when I asked for recommendations for food choices, the ones our server suggested were all very delicious. In addition, the prices are not too expensive, and on the cheaper side. I highly recommend this restaurant!
