Some of the best food I’ve had in Salt Lake. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be returning and definitely recommend. 👍🥘
What a wonderful restaurant!! The food is FANTASTIC, the staff is kind, and the music is a blast!! Bombay Palace is my new go-to Indian restaurant without a doubt! Loved all the vegetarian options, and seeing all the vegan and gluten free options was also wonderful! The serving sizes are generous and the food is filling! Thank you for everything!!

Bombay Palace offers amazing food and impeccable service in a very clean restaurant filled with beautiful artwork. The restaurant is highly recommended as the best Indian place by many. The manager is very knowledgeable and careful with gluten and cross-contamination, making it a great choice for guests with dietary restrictions. The service is excellent, with servers providing good recommendations and explaining the unique flavors of the dishes. The basmati rice is fluffy, light, and aromatic, with a delightful blend of spices. Guests can enjoy popular dishes like creamy butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and vegetarian masala, complemented by garlic naan and raita. The lamb biryani is perfectly paired with calming yogurt, and the malai kofta is a smooth blend of flavors. The restaurant's attention to detail and teamwork in delivering a dining experience make it a standout among Indian restaurants.
From the moment you walk into Bombay Palace, the welcoming atmosphere is enhanced by warm lighting and hints of Indian music. The menu is ambitious and offers standout dishes such as the Chettinad lamb, which has a bold, earthy spice profile. The shrimp coconut korma is creamy and well-balanced, with coconut that doesn’t overpower the shrimp. The Bombay lemon soda is refreshing with just enough spice and citrus to surprise. The fragrant and flavorful rice served alongside the dishes is far from just filler, adding to the overall experience. Classic favorites like butter chicken and samosas are praised for their authenticity and generous portions. Staff are friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in providing a great dining experience, often checking in and serving filtered water. The clean, welcoming interiors create an atmosphere that feels like a slice of India without leaving Utah.
However, as with many popular restaurants, waits can occur, especially on busy evenings. Reservations are recommended, but large groups may face challenges, as some guests experienced. One recent visit included a reservation for a work dinner for 12 people, but there was some difficulty with seating despite the restaurant being mostly empty. Despite the wait and communication issues, the food was awesome, with one guest praising the chicken tikka masala as one of the best they’ve had and highlighting the delicious tamarind sauce. Service was quick once seated, making it a good choice for smaller groups of 2-4 people.
Overall, Bombay Palace is a top choice for those seeking a robust Indian dining experience. The flavors, especially the chicken tikka masala and shrimp coconut korma, are highlights worth trying. Pair them with fragrant rice and a refreshing lemon soda for a meal that is both comforting and adventurous. The restaurant aims high in quality, and most diners leave impressed, planning their next visit. If rated, it would be around 4.5 out of 5, with some room for improvement in handling larger groups and consistency during busy times.
