Prairie Schooner is known for their booths which resemble covered wagons and the desert campground motif. If that's what you want and you're willing to pay through the nose for it, then this is your go to place. My wife and I decided we won't be going back. We were there a few months ago with some friends and I don't remember the details but we left thinking we were disappointed for the price we paid, and then some other family that we get together with regularly chose the Prairie Schooner and even though we weren't excited we wanted to be with them so we went. My wife ordered the prime rib and said it was "pretty good" and the sides were also fine. She had the wedge salad and liked it. But we still felt that the price was high and we could have had better for less at other nice places. I ordered ribs, but was informed a few minutes later that they were out of ribs, so I ordered the sirloin, medium rare. Of course like any restaurant they bring out rolls, which in their case is like a hoagie bun that everyone shares, it was fine, but nothing you would look forward to like the cheezy muffins at Red Lobster or the hot rolls you get at other places. The salad was an average dinner salad. When the sirloin steak arrived it was very disappointing. Much more medium than medium rare and just warm and cooling fast. I can't say that it was tough, but I certainly can't say it was tender. It was average at best and not as good as I've had several times at Sizzler for about half the price or less. I will say that our server was cheery and friendly and did a better than average job of serving us. She kept the water glasses full, and brought requested items, like au jus etc. quickly. But it wasn't enough to overcome the negatives in our mind. We have let our friends know that if they choose to go to Prairie Schooner again it will be without us, but I don't think that will happen.

Cool looking place,Was very specific about asking what has dairy in it when I ordered, what I’ve eaten so far tasted good (1 bite steak)However was not told that the broccoli that automatically comes with food is served with butter on it.Waitress could not tell me confidentially what was dairy free, including the bread which isn’t even made in house. She did not check about bread either said “I don’t know ummm” and walked off.Coming to ordering salad with meal she listed out the dressings as though I could magically know which has milk, (many dressings do even if you think they dont)Currently waiting longer for my food to be remade since I can’t have dairy for too severe allergy,Entire time felt like waitress was inconvenienced by needing non dairy food.Staff needs to be trained on allergens and ingredients. Never coming back,Not 100% confident that NOW it isn’t with dairy.

What an experience!! This Steakhouse was absolutely probably one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had. There are not enough words to express how stellar of a place this was. This is one time I wish Google had a 10-star rating. I'll start with the atmosphere absolutely amazing It is one of the most brilliant restaurants setups I've ever seen! It felt like I was sitting in the old west in the back of a covered wagon eating dinner. Now for the service Jeremy was an amazing waiter he attended to our every need made sure drinks were always full and constantly checking on the quality of the food! Now for the food probably one of the most amazing steaks I've ever had in my life It was cooked to perfection The baked potato was absolutely perfect and even my side of broccoli was perfectly cooked! I can't wait to come back to Utah in 6 months for my next meeting and make sure I have a reservation at the Prairie Schooner Steakhouse!!!

I haven’t been to Prarie Schooner for quite a while but I have to say I was disappointed. For $41, the 16 ounce NY Strip was dry, not flavorful, had a lot of gristle and not sure it was 16 ounces; looked smaller. The deep fried mushrooms were really good and the server was very friendly so that’s why 3 stars. For just the steak, I would give it a one star. In addition, I had to use my iPhone flashlight to be able to read the menu (too dark) and it was a little bit cold for me.

Food and the atmosphere were fantastic. Put waitress was not the best. We had 2 tables a party of 12. So I get it was a bigger party, but it was a week day nland not busy. She was just not the nicest, never really check on our tables. The people who brought the drinks and food out checked on us more than our waitress. Then they want a minimum of 18% tip... But we will be back!

The best restaurant I've ever been in. For lunch, get the Petite Top Sirloin. It makes me so happy. Soup or salad? Always get a soup, their salad tomatoes are SOUR. French onion soup is my personal favorite. They also have a great chicken option.
