Apex is the best place to stop on the mountain for one thing, the steak nachos. Please put them back on the menu!

The accounting dept of this admittedly high end Hotel is ran by an incompetent buffoon (specifically a rude woman who proudly and condescendingly identified herself as Audrey Garcia, who likes to hang up on clients after challenging them to leave negative reviews blah blah blah…). Via an accounting “error” she admitted charging my card (provided at check-in for incidentals only), after our company pre-paid for roughly 30 rooms at $949 each, and has refused to refund or provide any resemblance of an explanation as to what the charge was possibly for. I’d never trust this origination again, despite the Hotel being a rather nice venue all in all.

Don’t come if you’re expecting timely service. Took 10 mins for a waiter to come greet us at table. Another 35 mins for the food (soup, fries, burger). Another 15 mins to pay. Ended up being late checking out as a result.

Meh, lunch buffet was uninspired in both presentation and offering. The best food being the cold items (I.e. meat cheese and nuts) and noticeable fall off on the food prepared in house. Service for a few drinks was slow, but they were busy. They are able to accommodate larger groups with it nice (we had 6).

Did somebody say buffet? A staple feature of ski resorts, the variability of lunch buffets in DV is pronounced. Stein’s remains the gold standard in terms of food and service; it is also toughest to get into for non-guests. While Apex food offering has been improved greatly over the past several years, it still misses the mark in odd ways. A soft taco bar was a nice idea, and the carnitas was great, but no cheese, sour cream or pico de gallo among the topping options? Nor any tortilla chips? Steins had the full offering earlier in the week. Fruit offering is a joke- melon/strawberry kebabs? And what’s with peanut butter on celery? Where is the cheez whiz and ritz cracker bar? On the plus side, simplification of salad offering - mixed greens that can be dressed by the diner- is an improvement over complicated amalgamations of lettuce nuts fruit vegetables of the past. Also, better labeling regarding allergens would be appropriate.

Save your money and dine elsewhere! Montage name sounds appealing but nothing else was. Tiny portions, poor service, not worth the price. Set meal for 4 cost almost 1K with tips for a Christmas Day meal and we left feeling very disappointed.
Details: Despite prior reservation we were seated in the bar area and not the main dining area. Food tasted Ok but portions were tiny. Pleasant servers provided poor service. Had to ask for refills, had to ask for condiments several times from 2 different servers. Condiments and refills finally arrived when our meal was almost over. The dining space was nothing special. Overall, a disappointing experience.

Unfortunate experience with the NY steak. Silver skin left on, not properly trimmed. Very tough. Disappointing for a $250 meal.

Lacked in the variety of dishes and the quail of the food, the yam dish was like eating sugar.there were only two sald dishes and no fruit. The stuffing was mushy. The manager needs to go to Steinerikson or little America to see how a Thanksgiving buffet should be prepared, very disappointing.

The french fries were unbelievable. I had the forger burger. It was a tempura fried wild mushroom sandwich. It was incredible and they had gluten-free bread.

My husband and I came here not really knowing what to expect, but we were blown away!
The building/atmosphere is incredible. The trees are all lit up outside, the dining area is stunning, the view is spectacular, and that's all before we even get to the food itself.
Our server (shout out to Lindsey!) was phenomenal. She took great care of us - checking in frequently and ensuring our experience was top tier.
We ordered the wagyu (A5 and filet mignon) for our main entrees and it was hands down the best steak we have ever eaten. Don't skip out on the duck appetizer though.
And the DESSERTS.
They have an executive pastry chef and it shows. We had the firepit (creme brulee) and the conifer and both were out of this world fantastic in addition to being works of art.

Great Food Great service. We got in on a friday evening, and the first thing we wanted after a long flight and a distant drive from SLC Airport was something to eat. Our Drive that we had from All Seasons VIP Transportation in SLC recommended apex since it was alreayd in the hotel we where staying at we decided ok we would wait to get food till we got up the mountian.
Thanks

This was my first time at Apex Steak and it was such a great experience! The food tasted amazing and the presentation was impeccable. The sourdough bread loaf was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Melted in my mouth with the honey butter. The Empire salad had interesting and unique flavors and was a refreshing start to the meal. We also had the filet and lobster, both absolutely delicious. The mac and cheese was good, but probably the least exciting part of the meal. The asparagus au gratin was delightful. Then just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the desserts arrived and they were out of this world! My wife and I shared a creme brûlée and chocolate conifer - they both looked incredible and tasted even better. One of the best meals I've had in a long time!

Oh, and our server Dillon was so great. He knew everything about every single dish and made fantastic recommendations. He had just the right balance of sophistication and warmth. Everyone else was friendly and helpful, too!

Disappointing experience as we booked for Sunday brunch according to the website. When we arrived we were told for “some reason” brunch wasn’t being served on this day. What 5-star resort on a Sunday Father’s Day doesn’t offer a unique brunch celebration. A notice on the website would have been nice esp since the brunch was highly rated. Instead, we were greeted with what I would call standard bar fare.

Service was slow. On a plus, highly recommend nachos on the menu!
