So happy to have this back! I didn't visit last year but Cast & Cut is just like the Seafood Buffet I remember (with a few added options – the brisket was a-mazing).

Nice to have the seafood buffet back after 4 years. Almost everything was outstanding. The biggest standouts were the station with tuna and salmon poke and ceviche. Absolutely outstanding! The raw bar is also fantastic. A new addition from the previous version of the seafood buffet (pre covid) was the giant pan of paella which was awesome- tons of flavor with the saffron rice, bacon and sausage, and clams and mussels.Only disappointment was the carving station, where the brisket was a miss. It was slightly dry and did not match the quality of everything else. Would’ve preferred a more premium cut, both because Deer Valley seafood buffet is the definition of premium, and the $125 price tag should mean 10/10 across the board. The turkey was much better- moist and flavorful…but having read that some other diners on other nights had leg of elk, that would’ve been a more interesting option.Service was warm and attentive, ambience is pleasant, and overall it was a great evening.I will say the $3 fee to make a reservation was really disappointing, on principle. Obviously it’s a drop in the bucket compared to the $125 (+ tax/tip) to dine here, but it felt like an unnecessary and inappropriate fee. By all means, require a deposit for a reservation, but a straight up fee? Seemed unnecessary.I’d still recommend coming for a special occasion if you can swing it, price wise. Come hungry!

Let me start by... I'm not a buffet guy by any stretch ... HOWEVER... The food here is off the charts GREAT. I was caught off guard (my bad) about the buffet but, wow... no joke... take 'the walk' around and have a look at all of the VERY FRESH choices. From oysters on the half shell to little necks to shrimp and fish and chips... my table tried pretty much everything. AMAZING and a great addition to Deer Valley

It took a moment for them to find their stride, but the 23-24 ski season has been delightful. I've been there twice. Since it's a buffet, the long wait times mentioned in other reviews are no longer an issue. The seafood selection is extensive, and the manager mentioned that it's flown in daily. The ambiance is the only slight disappointment, but it's important to remember that you're in a ski lodge. Throughout the day, it's bustling with skiers in snowy boots enjoying turkey chili. However, they enhance the setting with tablecloths and some tasteful decor in the evenings. The cooked dishes were all enjoyable, and there were several salad options. Each night features a carving station with various meats and sauces. The dessert station is a hit with the kids, offering soft serve ice cream with an array of toppings, alongside the usual cakes and other delightful Deer Valley desserts. Disregard the negative reviews from the past. They've really got it dialed in now.

This year we were very disappointed in the Seafood Buffet. Over the years we have dined at the Deer Valley Seafood and it has always been a 5 star dining experience. Not this year. The buffet was mediocre and service was poor. The price was more which we understand but did not expect the buffet quality to be less than previous years. Sadly, we will find another venue for our annual holiday get together,

The assortment of seafood options was impressive and the service was top-notch. Everything about our experience lived up to hype. However, the aftermath shortly following dinner may have ruined seafood for my wife and me forever. We both suffered the worst 48 hours of food poisoning we’ve ever experienced. I won’t get into the gory details, but we both spent New Year’s Eve curled up on our bathroom floor trading turns with the toilet. It was so bad that we even had to call in sick from work on Jan 2 - by far the most painful road to recovery that neither of us want to experience again. 4 other members of our group also got food poisoning that night and experienced the same thing.I know Deer Valley prides itself on being exceptional, but the quality and preparation of the food we ate at the Cast & Cut was everything but exceptional. Not to mention, after multiple outreaches to DV management, we received no response - so disappointing!Avoid this place at all costs, especially if you want to eat seafood again.

Having been a longtime fan of the Seafood Buffett at Deer Valley, was excited when Cast & Cut was brought in as an “improvement”. Was quite disappointed by the value and quality, even if I wasn’t comparing it to what had been a great thing.Deer Valley has a bad habit of aggressively over salting their food- and there were times that dishes (whole crusted salmon for example) were inedible due to the shocking amount of salt. Made a comment to the manager when he came by to ask how it was and his reply was “better to be too salty than not salty enough”- surely an example of the chef and staff not thinking things through… can always add more salt for personal preference but can’t take away too much salt. Everyone around us at some point made the same comment as we were able to overhear. The shrimp/ crab cold bar was the highlight, with tasty and easy to pick Dungeness crab legs and claws. The shrimp was the star, and the scallop you can skip.A “poke” station with salmon and tuna as well as a mixed ceviche. Tasty- circling back to the salt issue- but in weird plastic martini glasses which made it hard to eat, and oddly kept the fish elevated above/off the ice and so a bit strange regarding raw fish and storage temp requirements.Tempura crab “wings” (breaded softshell crab) had good potential but was a bit stale from being made in too large of batches and then sitting- also again with the weird and hard to eat serving method, shoved into a jar. Calamari is usually a favorite of mine but the batch I had was over cooked, over seasoned, and unappetizing. Some steamed clams and mussels which were average, would have been better if they were cleaned better so as to get rid of the grit, unfortunately the broth was weak and yet overly salty.A carving station with turkey and roast beef- both average, but nothing special (dry turkey breast).Deserts were disappointing- some overly sugared macarons which were brittle yet gummy, tiny snowballs that lacked any chocolate flavor, and a variety of other bland cubed mystery desserts which all tasted similarly bad.Despite the lack luster food, service was mixed. Our waitress was nice, but I would have appreciated the damp finger towels to be refreshed once used and not smelling musty. At the end we got an expensive bill about $120 per person if I recall correctly (this was without any wine or cocktails- wine list had about a 4x -5x markup). Plus middle of the road tip, meal came out above $300 for two and we were left thoroughly unimpressed. Mind you it was Christmas week so cost might have been marked up for the holiday, but again quality was nowhere near what that price tag suggests, and kind of a bummer for people who travel to have a luxury ski holiday.

Horrible!! OVERPRICED for a buffet of subpar food. You would think for the price, you would have better selections at carving station, other than prime rib and turkey. They should have kept it a sit down fine dining experience! Do not recommend.

Environment is relaxing, quiet and cordeal. Staff was professional and food tasted great. There are plenty th of options ranging from salmon, prime rib, lobster and shrimp. There is also many great dessert options.

We had Christmas Dinner here and had a wonderful time! We had been to the "Seafood Buffet" several times prior to the change in ownership and it is just as good now, if not better. The waitstaff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was great. The mussel station was a nice addition. The carving station and ceviche were excellent. Happy to see the buffet return.

We went there tonight and it was fantastic. The entire spread was stunning and delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff is extremely friendly. I want to say a special big thank you to the young woman at the coat check. My 4 and 7 yr olds were ready to leave once they were full. We went out there so they could walk around a bit and she was so friendly. She quickly was in a conversation with my kids. The restaurant was wonderful but she really made it feel like the holiday season. Thank you, Laura Braile from Brazil. I wish you all the great things life has to offer.

Food was below average, especially for the price. It's way overpriced for what they deliver. Our dinner at the Rime at St. Regis cost less with far superior food and service. The waiting staff was sub par as well. There was a belligerent man sitting behind us where every other word was an f bomb. He was obviously drunk , but they kept taking his drink orders. They did nothing to remedy the issue. We had our 9 year old with us, so we cut the dinner short and left. Never going back there again and would recommend others stay away.

We went last night (12-09-20230) and WOW! Having a huge appetite even I didn't get through all the food stations - each one tended by professional chefs and continually stocked with king crab legs, Maryland crab cakes (all crab), jumbo firecracker shrimp, jumbo peel and eat with a variety of sauces, Angus beef tacos, even a carving station of prime rib or leg of elk with mashed potatoes and choice of gravies. Those are the things I ate. Let's not forget the plethora of desserts. I had the strawberry shortcake and the Carrot cake. There is a salad station, a poke and fish taco station, a raw bar including oysters, and I really can't remember because there was something available and fresh for every one. I cannot recommend this more highly. We own a restaurant in Park City and this is BY FAR the best restaurant in Summit County, maybe all of Utah.

We ordered a seafood appetizer, which was beautifully presented and delicious. Next, were small plates of bison, scallops, and risotto, which were all beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. Last, we ordered the s'mores, which was more like a fondue. This could easily have satisfied a table of 8 diners and was way more than 2 people could (or should!) eat. Our server, Alejandro, was attentive. All in all it was a great meal and evening.
