We've been to Brass Tag a number of times and always saw it as somewhat of an after-thought for the Lodges. This time was completely different. Everything we had was fantastic. Chicken Parm was really, really good. Even the Caesar salad was really good. So were the pizzas. We usually eat there for the convenience, but we will definitely go back for the food. Glad DV put some more attention and effort into this place.
We dined here on Christmas and the restaurant was not very busy. We ordered an appetizer and a customized pizza (adding a few extra toppings), which is something clearly offered on the menu. Despite this, we experienced an unusually long wait time. What was most disappointing was the response from our server. Instead of offering an apology or explaining the delay politely, we were told that the wait was because we ordered a customized item. That response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially since customization is part of their service. Delays can happen, and we would have understood with a simple apology or better communication. Unfortunately, the way the situation was handled took away from the overall experience.
Waiting more than 45 minutes to get our appetizer, website foods pictures was old and was not the same menu, did takes one and half hour to get our food, they were not even busy.
It is expensive bar food. You can get much better food, service, and environment for the same price elsewhere in Park City or Deer Valley. It's not worth visiting unless you're staying in the Lodges and value the convenience of it.
Tomato sauce was a bit spicy for our taste
The Brass Tag is the place to take a family with children. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, the staff is attentive and accommodating, and the menu has family favorites like pizza, pasta and good salads. Our 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was served quickly, making the entire dinner more pleasant for the rest of us. We shared salads and calamari for appetizers, then each ordered entrees - chicken Parmesan, pizza, bolognese - all of which were very good. We were highly pleased with the service and the food, and agreed that it's the best dining experience we've had with our multigenerational family. We'll be back.
The menu was more limited than we remembered. The restaurant suggests that it has Italian fare, yet few entrees that one might expect in an Italian restaurant were on the menu. It was not crowded, yet service and the kitchen were slow. It seemed like only one server was covering all of the tables. The food was OK, but not up to Deer Valley standards. We are locals and were entertaining out of town guests. I would say that there are better choices for a nice meal. We chose Brass Tag because of its proximity to a concert we were attending at Deer Valley. If you had young ones, this might be a good option because they offer some pasta dishes and pizza, which the kids around us seemed to be enjoying. I think the restaurant needs to figure out an identity and commit to that identity.
We had a delicious dinner and dessert here. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great!!
We ate here twice during our trip. While it's been a reliable meal in years past, this week's meals really disappointed us. The service was disjointed and the food was very lackluster. On our second night, two guests received something entirely different from their order and repeated requests were made for drinks which seemed to be forgotten as soon as the server left the table. But it was the quality of the food that was really disappointing - it just wasn't good.
The service was terrible ... we had a reservation and still waited over 30 minutes. Once we sat, our food still took a long time. Overall, it was not a good experience.

I rarely post restaurant reviews, and have never posted a negative one. This experience compelled my first one. We wanted to try the Brass Tag because it was one of the few restaurants in town we hadn't been to. Now I know why. It was the most HORRIBLE restaurant experience I've ever had in Park City/Deer Valley. Every meal ordered by our party of 7 was inedible, from the $68 steak that couldn't be "sawed through" with a steak knife; $42 salmon was fishy; pizza arrived at the table with blackened burnt edges - cold and cardboard hard; the duck was oversalted, etc. Our server, who politely apologized and took replacement orders, disappeared. The only staff coming over were those who bussed plates of inedible or half eaten food. About 40 minutes later and no "replacement" food arriving, we flagged down another member of the wait staff and asked for our check. It began a 10 minute process of "negotiating" what would be eliminated from our bill with incremental "management credits" (vs. taking items off etc) -- awkward and inappropriate. Just as we were getting ready to leave, (about another 15 minutes later), one pizza came in a "to go" box -- which we did not accept). In any other situation, especially in this upscale community, the manager or chef would have profusely apologized and likely comped the meal. If I could give this establishment negative 5 stars, I would.
The good - the food was excellent! Some of the best in the area
The ok - service was slow although I’m not sure it was our waiter’s fault. He was very nice but seemed to be covering too many large parties.
The ugly - the hostess was rude and nasty right off the bat. We walked over from silver baron in the middle of a snow storm with 2 young kids on a Thursday night. She scoffed at me that we didn’t have a reservation because “they’re just doing so well every night you must have one” (note the restaurant was half empty) she then told us we could wait 30 min and then said we could have a table if we were out in an hour for her next reservation. Half way through our meal she began pacing near us to “make sure we’d be done”
Her whole demeanor was very unwelcoming and unlike all of the wonderful people we have met in deer valley. When I told her we couldn’t wait 30 minutes with hungry kids her response was “this is how it work when restaurants are full”
we really loved the food and would likely come back here if not for the bad taste she left in our mouth.
A bit disappointed in the drinks and the food. Could have been better quality . Pizza was excellent though
We live nearby and have wanted to make TBT our neighborhood spot. Just not happening. Staff and service fabulous, but menu pricing and selections not making it. Corkage fee $50 a bottle. Pizzas really good; other entrees average. Until entrees get better and prices reasonable, order the pizza. A shame to waste such a lovely staff and setting. Deer Valley management, please wake up.
Came here for dinner. Nice options. Very tasty Caesar salad with pillow soft yet with some crunch croutons. Pizza was good. Salmon tasty and GF DF pasta.
