The waitstaff told us the mole sauce is an acquired taste. having (luckily!). already acquired that taste, i can say that here they serve a super-terrific mole!

My family and I have been coming to Cafe slivestre for over 20 years at this point. I've tried most the items on their old menu(which was always very good) and now, working my way through their new menu(everything I've had has been excellent.) Most of the time our server is Stephanie and she is fantastic to talk with. She makes it feel like we are at home. We've always had excellent service with any of the servers there. Their alcoholic drinks are very good. We will continue to come back here whenever we get the chance. The food comes out very quickly, and their salsa is very good. It's always a better choice to go to family restaurants rather than chain restaurants. We've tried countless different Mexican restaurants in Utah, but we've never liked them as much as we do here.

A few months ago, my sister and I came to this restaurant to have some tacos for the lunch special. We both made the statement that those were the best tacos we ever had.

Today we came here again and I was really tempted to get the tacos again because if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I still wanted to challenge myself to try something new on the menu and I was in the mood for a chimichanga which is a staple and very traditional or any Mexican restaurant.

Now I have to say that was the best chimichanga I ever had and my sister said the same thing. It was perfectly crispy and flaky. It had melted cheese all throughout, and the chicken inside was very moist and delicious.

I’m going to see how long I can continue the streak and I’ll be sure to order something completely different next time and update this review to see if we can go 3 for 3.

This really is a hidden jam inside of an assuming building and away from any other businesses. You would never know this place exist if it weren’t for Google and all of their well earned five star reviews.

Had an amazing brunch at Café Silvestre! I ordered the red chilaquiles, guava mimosa, and French toast—and everything was delicious. The chilaquiles had the perfect amount of heat and flavor, and the guava mimosa was super refreshing and unique. The French toast was perfectly sweet and fluffy—definitely a must-try. Great service and cozy atmosphere too. Highly recommend!

I have been eager to try this place for years but the wait time on weekends always dissuaded me. This place was fine. The salsa was giving marinara sauce, that was hugely disappointing. My enchiladas suizas were fine- I prefer other places but wouldn’t avoid this place.

Been here a few times now and this has quickly become our favorite Mexican restaurant! The salsas here are on another level. Each are so unique and flavorful! We haven’t had an app, drink, or entree that we haven’t absolutely loved.

If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out!

We went to try it with my daughter and my 2 year old baby, waited for a table, when we sat down they sat at several tables and served everyone except us, we waited for a waiter to arrive for 20 minutes, they passed by us and no one served us but they did not even offer us drinks, while the tables of only Americans were seated and at the moment they offered them drinks and chips.

Such an awesome place. Our server is the granddaughter of the original owner and told us the history of it. I love that it's still in the family. The food was exceptional. I could make an entire meal of the fresh, homemade tortillas and mole. They keep the original 70s charm but in a fun, not stale way. I live about 4 hours away but I'll definitely be coming back every time I make it to town.

I wanted to give a five star review but just could not. Atmosphere is good for a dining experience. We were greeted by the bus help and shown directly to a booth. The booth is too low. I’m 5’9” and the table was at shoulder level. I’m overlooking that because I want a good experience. The menu was easy and we made a quick selection. The wait staff, didn’t mention her name, was pleasant and efficient. Chips and a spicy salsa were brought (they only have one kind) and the order was taken. It did not take much time to bring the huge and delicious chopped salad and my taco. My taco fell apart and into the table at first crunch. The booth is too low. I scooped up the remainder of the fresh taco and enjoyed it very much. Shortly thereafter, I got the remainder of the order, enchilada, beans, rice and a salad. The food is good, we enjoyed the food. We did not enjoy using what the bus help referred to as the “silverware”. These utensils were made of some mystery metal resembling aluminum. I was reminded of a WWII bivouac mess kit, not something I would find in a modern restaurant. The utensils are important as they are what we come into physical contact with the food and our mouths. Don’t forget the booth too.

I’m disappointed, I wanted a good experience but only got good food. At check out the wait staff presented me with a tip option of 20% or more. I didn’t even know her name. I had more interaction with the bus staff than with her. Hint to wait staff, offer to fill the water glass. We were thirsty too.
