I used to frequent this restaurant. In fact, I was one of the first to adopt it and told all my friends and business associates about it. Nearly every time I would fly in from out of town, my wife would pick me up at the airport and say we want to go to Red lotus.

However, due to recent events that cost me a lot of money and inconvenience, at the excited direction of the owner, I and all my friends, family, and business associates have chosen to no longer frequent this place.

We have spent thousands of dollars there and since our experience a few months ago, we would have spent hundreds of more dollars. And over the course of time I am sure we would have spent thousands and thousands of more dollars there. But actions have consequences.

I am not encouraging other people to boycott them. You have most likely not had the same experience, but I would feel remiss if I didn't at least express my experience publicly.

Food was flavorless, hardly any meat inside definitely not worth the money. Beers brought to our table even though we didn’t order any. Not sure what’s going on at this restaurant but the service and food definitely doesn’t match the reviews. Overpriced garbage.

I love how they had vegan options, but ordered the general tso chicken extra spicy and there was no spice and the sauce is super super sweet. I waited there for takeout, ate it immediately and the egg flower soup came out cold and the fried rice has absolutely zero flavor. Way better options for Asian around town.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. The food was subpar at best. I was expecting something authentic and flavorful, but it turned out to be just like any other average Chinese restaurant.

I paid $16.95 plus tax for the Sesame Chicken, which was mostly breading and came with plain white rice. I don’t mind paying that price if the food is high-quality and flavorful, but unfortunately, this wasn’t the case. It felt like they were charging premium prices simply because of their downtown location, not because the food justified it.

On top of that, I expect at least decent to-go containers and cutlery—not flimsy styrofoam boxes and cheap flimsy plastic utensils. For the price, the overall presentation and quality just didn’t meet expectations.

Delicious! I especially loved the Vietnamese Egg Rolls. They are amazing, and we had to order another one to go because we are addicted now.

Absolutely no one here when I arrived for a DoorDash and it took them 20+ to prepare and order. Like really.

Best Chinese/Vietnamese in Salt Lake City. The quality of food is top notch and I love the variety and amount of vegetables they use in their dishes. Also vegan friendly! My favorites are the kung pao with tofu, szechuan with tofu, and orange chicken with vegan chicken. Also the pho is great!

Have been looking for a good Lemongrass chicken Bun bowl and had to come all the way to SLC to find! Food was on point and service was excellent. Will DEFINITELY be coming back again as soon as I come back to SLC!

Red Lotus Bistro is better than ever under new management with Victor at the helm. The food has never tasted so good, and the service is top-notch—fast, friendly, and welcoming. I tried the Pon Pon Chicken, a perfectly breaded chicken glazed with a sweet and spicy Chinese BBQ plum sauce, and it was absolutely delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor!

If you’re in #SaltLakeCity, Red Lotus Bistro is a must-visit for incredible Chinese & Vietnamese cuisine. Highly recommend!
