Their carne asada is the best that I’ve had in this part of Utah. A bit pricey but what isn’t these days? I think it’s worth the price. Salsa bar is delicious. Drinks on point. I love their burritos, ceviche, and tacos. I’ve brought several friends to this restaurant and they always leave happy and full :)

I hate having to amend this review because Gordo’s used to be my absolute favorite taco spot in Salt Lake. I recommended them constantly and looked forward to every visit.
Unfortunately, over the past year, the quality has gone into a steep decline. What used to be consistently fresh, flavorful, and worth going out of the way for now feels wildly inconsistent at best and disappointing at worst. Portions, freshness, preparation, and overall quality just aren’t what they used to be.
I kept giving them chances because I genuinely loved this place, hoping each visit was just an off night—but at this point, it feels like a pattern rather than bad luck.
This isn’t coming from someone who tried them once and had a bad experience. This is coming from someone who used to enthusiastically call Gordo’s their favorite taco spot. That’s what makes this so disappointing.

I come from Texas and in SLC there are a handful of full of places to eat good tacos. Gordos is one of my top spots to have good tacos. I’ve tried every item on their menu and they do not disappoint. 100% recommended.
