I live right next-door this restaurant. I’ve been there once before and had their breakfast burrito, which was amazing! Decided to take my son here while he was visiting town and did not disappoint. I had the eggs Benedict Florentine, which means no meat and we shared the bacon. And he got the hamburger. Our meals were absolutely delicious! The restaurant was very, very busy, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. There was not any long waits between getting our food getting our check, etc.
The pancakes went by on a plate to another table and they look so yummy! I will definitely be coming back here again. I might try to go during the week because the weekend was very loud and busy. It didn’t interrupt our meal, but it was loud so just FYI.

Such a Beautiful restaurant and loved the ambiance. Went for my bday lunch and it was excellent. I had the Smash Burger without the bun, and the soup and it was great! We also had the biscuits with the honey butter and the root appetizer.. So good! Finished with the chocolate cake. It was really amazing. Loved the place!

Tonight was my second visit to Hearth and Hill and it once again did not disappoint. We had a mishap on our end with the reservation and the hostess did the most she could to save our night and accommodate us. Then dinner was so good again, ordered cheddar biscuits as an app and the truffle Mac and both delivered! I would definitely recommend ordering the smash burger, it is so delicious and the sweet pickles make for a great flavor. The main reason I came here to leave a review however is for our amazing server Mikey. Both times at the restaurant Mikey has been my server and is so hard working and enthusiastic and always brings the energy for an awesome experience. This has quickly become my favorite restaurant to visit in SLC and I will be back soon. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Elegant, seamless service for larger parties. Swift table cleanup or utensil changes, nobody awkwardly interrupted group conversation. Meals were beautiful. Butternut squash and tofu were delicious. Bold move to keep the raddhicio on the bitter side - a risk that paid off. Restaurant is on the louder side so keep this in mind. Good energy.

We got their weeknight takeout deal. It was not that great, but an easy option if you don’t want to cook. I wouldn’t do that again but I would try eating at the restaurant
Was only there for reception

Recently we were celebrating a retirement party for a staff from our non-profit. We did a private party in their group room. From the planning phase to the end this place was fantastic to work with. The service was amazing and the atmosphere and food were top notch. They have a nonprofit discount as well which was appreciated. Highly recommend.

Truffle mac and cheese is the best
Restaurantji Recommends
Great place, good food, good service. Kinda noisy--it has a bit of a California feel to it, but overlookable.
I HATE leaving reviews like this. I genuinely do. But as someone who scours reviews and trusts that a 4.5+ rated restaurant will be good, I need to speak my truth.
Let’s start with the good:
-Service was great. Server was knowledgeable and personable.
- Truffle Mac n cheese was 10/10. Best food item we had by FAR.
And unfortunately that’s where it ends… let’s start with the worst:
- I HAVE NEVER HAD FOOD POISONING LIKE THAT BEFORE IN MY LIFE. And yes it was indeed food poisoning and not something else because my partner had it too, and the only thing we shared between us, but not with our friends who we came with us, was the seared ahi. Also, it came on quick, and, well when that thing happens to 2 people at the exact same time, you know what it is. Paid $100 for 2 people’s dinner to have it betray us.
-the rock top pasta was 5/10. Honestly nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth $30 for the plate.
-small thing, but the menus had inconsistencies. One menu had a drink called love potion #9 (which I wanted) and the other menu had #10 (which is what they had, because they were out of the lychee.) it’s simple enough to not get your customers excited over something you don’t have…
-another small thing: we made a reservation for dinging room. After making us wait 10 minute after our reservation time, they asked if a high top bar would be okay (but when you make the reservation, it specifically asks you if you want high top or dining room, and again, we chose the latter. Idk, I guess don’t give the option if you aren’t going to honor our in a timely manner anyways.
Summary: please check out my other reviews. I’m a happy positive reviewer. I only leave negative if it was BAD. And guys, this was BAD. I guess maybe stay away from the seared ahi and you’d possibly be okay? But I think the takeaway is, at $50 per person, it still didn’t feel worth it, and even if we didn’t get food poisoning. 🤷🏻♀️
