For a new restaurant/bar, the menu prices for shrimp/steak combo are comparable to fine dining restaurants: Ruth's Chris Steak fine dining, Bambara hotel fine dining restaurant, Spencer's Steakhouse (Hilton); Homecoming Southern is not a fine dining restaurant, it is a standard 3-4 star atmosphere restaurant and bar; ordered Andrew's Bad A___ Rock Shrimp $18, my first option was the Fried Oyster Basket but they didn't have this dish available that evening. The Lynchberg Lemonade was good, Jack Daniels, lemonade, all in all, and in an overview fair ratings, the menu prices are too pricey for drinks, appetizers, and main course. Depending on what you order, for one person it would still be in the ballpark $30-$50+ per person (depending on what you order....if an appetizer, lunch or dinner with a drink, it would be approximately $30 (appetizer/drink), or if dinner, appetizer/drink/dinner) expect to fork out $85-$110. It was an interesting experience to try out this new restaurant but will not return.
Entrees were pretty good. The drinks (alcoholic) however were way overpriced! My partner and I had one beverage each, which tasted pretty mediocre, and they cost more than our entrees did. $90 (including tip) for two entrees, two mixed drinks and one soda? Not worth it. I won't be going back.

We had a late lunch here. The sampler platter was great. Loved the onion rings and even the cheese curds were good ( coming from someone from Wisconsin) I had the pastrami burger, wife had the BBQ burger. Both were great. Will definitely go back to try the chicken.

This place was just ok. The music was really loud we could barely hear each other. The greens were very salty, The gumbo was ok, didn't have much flavor. My friend had the chicken sandwich that was actually really good.

I am not sure what place to leave a review for, whether it be Fat Jack's or Southern kitchen as the location listed for Fat Jack's is closed permanently and the southern kitchen has fat Jack's menus, so I'll leave this review on both.
I went here for a work outing and was hoping that it would be a good local gem based on reviews. We get there and are seated, our orders are not taken until about 10 minutes in, which is perfectly fine. What isn't fine is the hour-long wait we then have for our five entrees. Keep in mind that there were only two other groups of three people each there when we got there.
When the food did arrive, it tasted so bland and the sauce that was put on the food was as generic as possible. I'd expect this flavor of food in a school cafeteria, not a restaurant that charges over $20 for a lot of their menu.
The final nail in the coffin was the $17 cocktail that was made out of $3 of ingredients and tasted like it too. Premixed ingredients with cheap liquor. No originality whatsoever in this entire restaurant.
TLDR: everything about this place is uninspired, unoriginal, and overpriced for being so. Don't waste your money.

We actually wanted to go to Fat Jack's Burger Emporium, but it looked like it was closed. Try this place out across the street and find out it's actually the place we're looking for. Why are there two of this restaurant with different names across the street?
We walk in, nice waitress, and get seated. Order our food/drinks and then wait almost an hour for food. There was no one else in the building waiting for food besides us after ordering.
The food and drinks were lukewarm and portions were terrible. A smash burger smaller than the bun and two times smaller than the onion ring in a BBQ burger, for a burger joint? Not the best look.
Flavor of the sauce and food was not up to par. Fries tasted like they were seasoned with just salt and pepper, when they were supposed to be Creole seasoned. $17 base price for the burgers and fries and the drinks are also super expensive for the low quality they are.
Presentation and quantity of the food was also just disappointing and definitely won't be coming back.

The food quality was poor. The items we received were not as they were described on the menu. Server tried to explain it away, but they were not. Service was also very slow and not friendly. Would not recommend and will not return.
I can say that I will not be back mostly everything on the menu. They were out of food and wine. my girlfriend ordered the wings and the collard greens. The wings were overcooked. I ordered the wedge salad because there's no way you can mess that up and my other friend ordered the Southern eggrolls, but they were actually wontons, Because they had changed the menu. It took the food almost 35 minutes to come out and we were trying to catch a show so we had to hurry and eat, and there was people that came in after us got their food before us. It was a good experience and the bathroom was not clean and they were slow, but they weren't taking care of other things in the restaurant like the bathroom , plus I think I was overcharged. I was really hoping that this place would be good, but it wasn't so don't waste your time!
The server was fabulous and the food delicious. They were out of a lot of things though, which was disappointing. The service was slow, but I understand they were short staffed that evening. We weren't on a timeline, so it was fine for us.
