Killer spot. Best meal of our year so far. Loved every single thing we ordered: fried tofu gochujang noodles, cucumber salad, karaage chicken, and mushroom wrapped in pork skewer. Definitely coming back.

This is the best place to eat in Salt Lake. Even at much fancier places I still don't find them more satisfying than the rich flavors at Nohm. The flavor and freshness is always on point and the menu has a good deal of variety. Ordering a variety skewers is a must, and picking a few dishes.

Pro tip: go at 5 or 6pm. Because the food is made fresh, some menu items will sell out by the end of the night.

I desperately wanted to like this place - gussied-up yakitori with a korean spin? sign me up! - but ended up being disappointed in the food. I would summarize it as asian food trying too hard, aimed squarely at a white palate. I would rate it 3 stars except it was overpriced ($100+ for 2 people, no drinks) which knocks it down another star.

We ordered what I saw was well-reviewed: the cucumber salad, the fried tofu, 3 skewers, and the grilled mackerel - one of my favorite fishes, I had it almost every morning in Japan for breakfast. The cucumber salad (3 stars) was fairly standard but not special, something you would expect as banchan in any KBBQ - the addition of squid made it extra fishy. The fried tofu was most disappointing (1 star) - all the ingredients separately would have been wonderful - maitake mushrooms are always special, I usually love agedashi tofu, and I'm chinese so hot and sour soup is a classic. But the combination of so many different strong flavors clashed, and ended up with a confused dish. The tofu, more typically served in a delicate dashi, did not do well in the thick cornstarch heavy soup and the skin ended up chewy, mired in a thick glop. I felt like I was being punched in the mouth with different clashing flavors and textures. The yakitori skewers were standard (3 stars) the mushroom was marinated in a pleasant soy, the chicken came with a nice grilled smoky flavor although lacking any crisp on the exterior, and the pork and enoki was tasty even if the texture was stringy rather than tender. The grilled mackerel was the best savory course, with spot on flavors, tangy pickled gingers, on a bed of creamy ochazuke. Unfortunately, the entire dish was also horribly oversalted to the point of almost being inedible.

The shiso dessert was pretty interesting and a refreshing end to the meal (4 stars). I guess I would recommend the yakitori if you've never been to Japan and want to try it, and the dessert.

What a great place to come eat Izakaya style in SLC. Great food, drink and service. You can tell great care goes into creating and serving each dish. This is a must visit restaurant in SLC. It’s small so make a reservation.

Absolutely delicious. I ate almost everything on the menu. Great design throughout and the emphasis on art/artists around the space is 10/10

The staff wasn't as funny as me, but that's okay.

Made a reservation for 3 people. Was told 15 min before the time that they couldn’t accommodate the reservation with no other explanation. Very disappointing professionalism. Would not suggest making any important plans around a reservation here in case you have a similar experience.

I’ll probably go back. I think what stops this from being a five star for me was I ended up at one of the standing tables. Food, drink, drinks and service were good. And the atmosphere was tops.

Bar nohm is the perfect place to share food and vibe out. The food is extremely delicious, I don’t think you can go wrong but I’d highly recommend the branzino and the sesame noodles. Drinks are also unique and amazing. Service is also great. Overall love the vibe and look forward to going back!
