What a fabulous little space in central 9th. Imaginative, delicious cocktails that surprised and delighted my partner and I. The Owner is a standout cocktail.

On the pricey side. Food & ambience are great. The server was kinda awkward when we were ordering but no real complaint

This restaurant is a genuine culinary anomaly and a welcome one, in the SLC dining landscape. The service stands out immediately: attentive, deliberate, and marked by a level of care that’s increasingly rare. Every interaction, every dish, every drink feels intentionally crafted. Even the small touches: the choice of your own sake cup, the satisfying heft of the ceramics, the well-made bamboo chopsticks, each signal a kitchen and staff who know exactly what they’re doing.

As someone who eats gluten-free, I felt genuinely accommodated. I ordered the sesame noodles, glazed tofu, and branzino; each arrived beautifully composed and executed with real technical confidence. Others at my table tried the fried rice and the potato salad. I sampled the latter, and frankly, it was the one dish that didn’t quite belong—more of a cultural wink (perhaps to Utah’s funeral potato and potato-salad traditions) than a fully integrated part of the menu.

One more relief: unlike many of Utah’s trend-focused establishments, the restaurant wasn’t leaning on the tired soundtrack of Rhye’s Woman and Glass Animals circa 2017. The interior design is cohesive and intentional—no lazy gestures, no borrowed personality. It feels like made people who love food and know what make a place feel like one you want to recommend to everyone who visits twon.

David Chon, a semifinalist for the James Beard “Best Chef: Mountain” category, clearly earned that recognition. The restaurant reflects a practiced hand and a thoughtful culinary vision.

I hope to visit again soon.

One of our absolute favorite places in SLC! Food is delicious, service always goes above and beyond, and the atmosphere is cozy and well decorated.

They have a ton of unique drink selections as well as fun mocktails. The highlight of our meal is always the bluefin tuna sashimi, steak skewers and the sesame noodles! These are constants in our order when we visit, but we also love the baby octopus & karaage. You really can’t go wrong with most things on the menu!

This place gets busy, especially on the weekends, so make a reservation if possible to secure a seat! Our photos don’t due this place justice, but it’s well worth the visit & may become a staple in your restaurant favs.

Amazing!! Bar Nohm is always a good experience whether getting food, just drinks, or here for a pop up. Love love love the atmosphere and friendly staff! Damien is a particularly wonderful host, and Dylan always goes above and beyond with specialty cocktails! Every drink I’ve had here is a step above what you expect out of a drink, and the food is absolutely amazing. The mushroom skewers are a hidden gem, and I love popping over to their sister bar, Water Witch, for a fun drink! I love the entire vibe and fun events they have and could not recommend enough!

An incredible dining experience. Great cocktails, food, ambiance, and service. We tried a good portion of the menu and everything was excellent - kushiyaki, spicy cucumber salad, Asian pear salad, karaage, sesame noodles, and shiso dessert.

Dark, moody, and absolutely stunning. This place feels like stepping into an urban Asian art piece every plate, every drink, every vibe is chef’s kiss. 10/10 would come back just to soak it all in again.

My favorite spot in Salt Lake! Bar Nohm never disappoints. The food is incredible every time. The fried tofu is my absolute favorite (the bartenders even know it’s my go-to!), perfect portion and full of flavor. Every dish is creative and beautifully balanced, and the cocktails pair perfectly. The shiso dessert is a must have every time! The team is always so welcoming and you can tell they really care about what they do. I can’t recommend it enough!

It’s wonderful meal at here all the time but I think some foods were overpriced for the portion we got. Foods are delicious.

Favorite spot in salt lake, hands down. Bar Nohm is the heart of the Granary district and it’s the best place to take friends who have never been.

The cocktails change often and are very creative and fun. For how great the ambiance is, the food doesn’t have to be good, but it’s also incredible. The sesame noodles or fried karage are incredible dishes.

The staff are super friendly and you can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working there and adding to the great vibe. Sitting on the patio and people watching is the best.

Wish there were more places in SLC like this!
