Food is always an experience with fresh ingredients and good portions. Atmosphere is not comfortable and very noisy. Was not busy but impossible to have cross table conversations.

There is a waiting period and you can visit the beautiful store next door.
The restaurant has a lot of brunch choices and friendly staff. The parking lot can get fully occupied pretty quickly.

I've been coming here for years. This past weekend, my son and I came in and were told there was a 45 minute wait. We sat and waited patiently, while at the same time groups of people who arrived after we did, were led to their tables. I was getting heated, so I asked the hostess about it and she said there was an informal, unadvertised call in system. I'm totally pissed off at this point. We sat on that stupid bench and watched while people came in, chatted, hugged and were seated before us. I noticed how dirty the floor was, and the back juice area was just nasty.
This place is hipster hype. Never coming back again. So rude and unprofessional. The food wasn't as good as I remember. Time for a new breakfast spot. Boo!

Honestly asked the server for coffee 3 times. The coffee pot was right on the side. Everyone else got served before me. My order was a fruit bowl and black coffee. I won't go back.

Not my favorite place but my son wanted to go there with his kids due to the pancakes. I thought OK at least I can get a cup of coffee.
I don’t know where they bought their coffee but it’s the absolute worst coffee I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t say much, but this was so bad I had to tell the manager that it was bad.
Parking: Bit of a weird ambience.
Loved the art gallery in back. Food was decent. Mushroom omelette felt very healthy, could have used a seasoning or something but they provided enough. Couldn't quite tell what it was missing. Quite liked the atmosphere

It’s a cute little place. Food was decent. Not amazing. They sat us at a small table that was adjacent to a large party. It was so cramped. Servers had to squeeze to get by.
Kind of ruined the experience.
We would have been much happier to wait another 15 minutes for a little more spacious table. Service was fine. Nothing special.

Great good. It’s a fun little environment and tucked behind it is a fun little store so even if you come when it’s busy, you can keep yourself entertained and browse the store.
I will say, some things are a bit overpriced in my opinion, but other than that you cannot go wrong.

First time with Family and Friends, loved the food and the Staff was awesome. A bit small and crowded but well worth the visit.

Roots is the absolute best place in SLC for brekky! I have literally never had a better pancake in my life. Which is amazing - but has also ruined me for anywhere else haha.
Their fresh juices are delicious, and everything from the eggs, so the homemade sausage, to real maple syrup is so well done! Friendly service, great vibes - can’t be beat!

Pretty average, especially considering all the hype. Nothing wrong with it, it just didn't impress. I got the Eggs Benni and enjoyed it enough. The house potatoes on the side were really good but the hollandaise sauce was different than anything I've tried and had a tangy taste which I don't think worked well with the other ingredients. Also, the service was kind of slow. All things considered, I would like to go back and try more options and give the place a chance to live up to the hype.
