We made a reservation for a party of two, yet we were seated right by the door where everyone was coming in and out. Each time the door opened, the freezing cold air from outside—especially after it had been snowing all day—was blowing directly onto my back.

I asked if we could be moved to another seat, even to the bar, but the manager came over and stated that there were no other options available. However, halfway through our dinner, we watched as an employee moved a two-top table to a side wall for extra seating. This made it clear that the manager had no intention of accommodating us or being creative in resolving the situation. It was disappointing to see such a lack of consideration for the customer.

Our server Lexus was terrific. Overall service was attentive and prompt. Food was mediocre. Roasted salmon was bland and veg base was cold. Gnocchi was dense not fluffy. Tuna tartare was very good. Nice big chunks of tuna. Cocktails were good. Wine list meh

This place needs to learn how to treat their employees.

Food was average. Got shakshuka and all american breakfast (Brunch). Brussel sprouts were good.
Went a couple times and the service has been consistently bad.

I came here for Valentine’s Day and was looking forward to a wonderful evening with delicious food and great service. However, we were sat almost an hour after our reservation. The restaurant obviously overbooked for the occasion, which was very poor planning and extremely inconvenient and unprofessional. While waiting to be sat, the roof began to leak. It was a very uncomfortable wait. Once sat our server who doesn’t normally work there was very polite and accommodating. However, the restaurant ran out of many of the Valentine’s Day menu items which was rather disappointing. We were not able to enjoy the steak because it ran out. We also could not enjoy the chocolate banana bread because it ran out. This was quite frustrating given that the menu was very limited anyway for the holiday. I ended up ordering the squid linguine and my partner ordered the salmon. The salmon dish was very good however, the restaurant also ran out of many of the toppings that were supposed to come with the dish. The squid linguine was not good at all. It had a very Strong vinegar taste.

Overall, this was a very underwhelming and disappointing experience, and I wish we had not selected this restaurant for Valentine’s Day.

On the bright side, the restaurant was very aware of their shortcomings and did offer us a discount for the meal, which was appreciated. In the future, I hope this restaurant plans a lot better for these types of occasions.

My gf and I came to our reservation 5 minutes before time but still had to wait almost an hour to get sat. We later found out the long wait was due to the fact that they overbooked. Due to the late sitting, some of the Valentine’s Day menu was no longer available. After expressing our disappointment and displeasure with the manager, he gave us a discount. This however doesn’t change the fact that this place didn’t meet our expectations and messed up our Valentine’s Day dinner experience. The only meal I enjoyed was the Salmon dish. Kindly see picture below. Please note that we ate at Ivy!

We had heard great things about this place. Very busy and reservations required. Seems like a very popular hip spot. It was a very loud room so it made conversation with our group of 8 difficult. Everybody enjoyed their meal. The Brussel sprouts were very tasty and the garlic fries were worth it. The waygu braised beef was very good. The top sirloin was good but too raw for my wife. We ordered it medium but it was somewhere between rare and medium rare. I didn’t send it back for additional cooking because that never works out well. It did have great flavor. We would come back, the menu had many dishes I would like to try.

Showed up on time for our reservation and restaurant was closed. Had to stand outside in the snow to wait for them to open up. Service was slow, once our food finally arrived it was cold. Ordered huevos rancheros with chorizo and there was a cup of chorizo dumped onto the food. The shakshuka was ordered with hard eggs and the food came out cold with runny eggs. They remade the order and the second time the food came out lukewarm with runny eggs. Our drinks remained empty the entire time we were there. The only saving grace was the roasted beet hummus appetizer. We will definitely skip this place next time we’re in Salt Lake City

Food was poor, cold and not done as asked. The waitress never came back to check on us and was more of a social butterfly with co workers. I 100% will never come back here

So I came for valentines Day and we waited an hour past our reservation so disappointing because they ran out of steak and we don’t eat squid or fish. We left and found another place to eat. Idk why they would book that many people for reservations if they didn’t have the food to accommodate. So disappointing especially on Valentine’s Day! 🙁 we was there two hours and they couldn’t even make us any other meal.

I'm sure it's intentional to have no art on the walls but the dining area seemed like an annex that didn't get finished yet. The fries appetizer was really good. My husband is from England and got the fish and chips which he said was ok. I got the gnocchi and it's a very heavy meal... Way more chewy pork than gnocchi. Interesting textures.

Went for brunch. Got the pumpkin bread and beet hummus apps: very good. Also go the breakfast hash: it was pretty bland and didn't want to finish it. We had a reservation for the Ivy side but were forced to sit on the Varley side because Ivy had been booked out for a special event. It's misleading to make a reservation (which Ivy is historically very particular about) and not get what you reserve. It's very loud on the Varley side. Probably more fun in the evening with their current disco (Coco Cabana) setup. Our service was pretty poor with the server disappearing for long periods, forgetting to bring us water, silverware, and plates.

Brunch was not disappointing, but definitely not anything memorable enough to go back. The cocktails were creative (The Last Man Standing with mezcal, Anejo, fermented hot honey, wood fire, and mole, was awesome) but a few arrived with garnishes that were completely wilted and gross.

Ivy Restaurant in Salt Lake City, UT, might just be the hidden gem you've been looking for, especially if your taste buds are in the mood for a burger adventure. Picture this: a burger so majestic it deserves its own throne, crowned with a bun that's been kissed by golden perfection. This isn't just any burger, my friends; it's a culinary masterpiece with layers of juicy beef, crispy bacon, and a secret blend of toppings that make you question if this is really just a burger or a slice of heaven.

But wait, there's more! Accompanying this royal burger are fries that are the crispy, golden children of potato royalty, served with a side of dipping sauce that's as mysterious as the restaurant's name suggests. Is it a spicy aioli? A zesty remoulade? Who knows, but it's delicious enough to make you forget your manners and lick the cup clean.

So, if you're in Salt Lake City and you're craving something that's not just food but an experience, swing by Ivy Restaurant. Just remember, this place might just redefine your expectations of what a burger can be. And who knows, maybe you'll leave with a new favorite spot that'll have you coming back for more, just like ivy clinging to its favorite wall.

Bon appétit, or should I say, enjoy your burger enlightenment!
