WARNING:The badThere is an 18% service charge that is not transparent. Yes, it’s listed on the back of the menu… with nothing else… because there is no reason to look at the back of the menu. They also ask for additional tip without being clear that “gratuity” was already forced upon you. This is a counter service establishment. The goodThe food, coffee and ambiance are all great. Multiple excellent dishes with varying taste all cooked to perfection—locally sourced when able… etc etc… you know the type of place. The opinionI wish the owners valued integrity in their cost transparency the same way they value integrity in their food. They have clearly made a decision to suppress the real cost of their dishes in an effort to not decrease demand on the front end.

I took my son. I think it’s a fun place to visit. The coffee is OK. Definitely the drip. Coffee is not very good. Don’t order the turkey eggs eggs total rip off. It’s some eggs on yogurt no spice. They do a great job with bread here And staff is friendly and like I said it’s fun to be at but the food is questionable. Definitely don’t get the Turkish shakes.

Immediately charged an automatic 18% tip for just buying a pastry, what am I tipping for? Tip should be an option

What a find! Wonderful little spot for a crazy good breakfast. I had the mushroom avocado toast on crusty sourdough - OMG sooooo good!!! My husband had a bacon-egg-cheese biscuit sandwich. Both meals so messy they had to be eaten with knife and fork, so maybe not a great spot for a first date - but that is NOT a complaint! We both finished every bite. If we are in Salt Lake City again WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Anything you order here will be good and their coffee is ridiculously good. Only thing is that they went through some menu changes and unfortunately my favorite brekky sando was lost in the process. Criminal. Also really good tea lattes

The owner is extremely hostile to women with children. I have never been so appalled by an experience in any customer service related establishment. A friend and I met here for breakfast and I had to bring my toddler daughter who, in the course of our time there, had gone to pull a toy out of her diaper bag, which had then accidentally caused a clean diaper to fall out. I didn’t see the diaper as it was opposite to the side of the diaper bag that I was facing. Rather than approaching me with discretion and kindness, the owner loudly and condescendingly came and ordered that I pick up the diaper. Shocked and embarrassed by the spectacle, I went to pick it up and she proceeded to say that she couldn’t believe that someone would just leave a diaper laying on the ground. I told her it was a clean diaper and had fallen out by accident and that I would happily pick it up but would appreciate that she exhibit some semblance of decorum and understanding as I had not seen that the diaper had fallen out until she approached me so rudely. She then demanded that my friend and I leave the restaurant immediately. I couldn’t believe how she was behaving and asked what business it was of hers to come repeatedly and rudely interrupt my friend and I, to which she replied that she was the owner of the establishment. It was a truly shocking experience. I am not the kind of person who writes reviews, but I’ve never experienced such alarming hostility, utter lack of class, and terrible behavior by anyone, let alone a business owner. I truly hope the owner is able to find some courses on customer service, etiquette, and personal decorum. Disgraceful.

I love this restaurant and it’s located very close to the Gateway mall. An excellent place to have your breakfast, coffee, read a book or just work. Very nice and calm.

I wanted to have a better experience than my family and I did! I reserved a table here for the Saturday before Easter to prepare for a day of wedding dress shopping with my mom and siblings. I heard good things about this restaurant from others and looked up the menu (we had people with dairy allergies in our group). Unfortunately, we perhaps are not young or hip enough to eat here- and here we thought we were at least hip-ish!Our waitress walked away from us a few times before we could give her our orders or requests. One of our food orders was forgotten (this was rectified within a few minutes). The coffee was not great. The Americano my sibling ordered tasted burnt and so did the regular coffee they changed it for. The gravy on the biscuits and gravy was watery and not flavorful. The eggs were a bit too far on the wet side for the three of us who had the classic breakfast.A few good things: they have vegan milks for their coffee. The building is pretty great. The hostess seemed really nice and had cool tattoos. The hash browns, sourdough toast, and caramel apple pancakes (I forget what they’re called on the menu) are delicious.

Portion was small and they forced an automatic 18% tip to just hand me my food, not even any water or any other kind of service. What am I tipping for? No free wifi either.

**AUTOMATIC SERVICE CHARGE OF 18%**Read the low reviews before wasting your money.I had the special (nothing special about it) which only came with two boiled eggs for protein at $14My partner had the breakfast sandwich which had 1 egg and 1 piece of bacon on an English muffin for $8On top of the "hidden" service charge (hidden in quotes cause it's on the back of the menu in fine print)Chai was mid, if you're going to serve hot drinks get better cups. A steaming hot coffee should never be served in a water glass.Utah has really low expectations for restaurants, I don't understand all the hype. I'm not sure where they source their beans from but I'm pretty sure it's Satan's rear end cause the drip coffee and Americano both tasted like a$$.

Not many options on the menu. This English muffin with one egg and bacon is $8 plus 18% service charge plus another tip screen at the end. I initially ordered an Americano, didn’t like the taste and they changed it with drip coffee. The atmosphere is good but I wouldn’t come again.

This is a place where you can really appreciate your food in the comfort of a pleasant atmosphere. We ate on the table service side of the establishment. The food is delicious and well prepared. Seating is comfortable and the service is on point. Only complaint is the obligatory %18 service fee (regardless of party size or whether you eat on the self-service or table service side) on top of any tips you want to leave.

If I could give this place 5 stars I would! The food, service and drinks are amazing. I am a chai snob and this is place has won my new favorite chai spot! It’s spicy and not too sweet, the way I think it was intended! Kudos Rose! Also I had the breakfast bowl which was the perfect balance of protein and greens. I’m a happy girl. ?

This place was delicious. I ordered something with egg on potatoes with a salad and something pickled. It was amazing. My friend got a slice of quiche and enjoyed it. Everything that came out of the kitchen looked amazing.
