first time having Haitian food, it was incredible! rich flavors, excellent fried chicken. Just be careful with the coleslaw bc it's spicy as hell! (Coming from a spice lover)
We love Makaya Caters, they served us delicious food at the Afro festival today! The pork Griot was the best I’ve had, perfectly fried on the outside and juicy on the inside. The pikliz was so spicy and fresh, it was delicious! Also had the sweet plantains and they were a hit with the kids. My husband’s pork bowl had the most delicious pwa (beans). Kind and fast service! L’union fait la force! ???
Delicious food that you will continue to crave for! Professional, friendly and efficient staff. If you haven't ate at this food truck you are really missing out. Do yourself a favor and go see them asap.
I follow their Facebook page so that I can hunt them down because I love them so much!! My boyfriend hates me because sometimes I just wake up and say, "I want Makaya Caters," and they are not around ? so I take my hangry-ness out on him... ?? I wish I could cook like this!!! Thank you for your food!!! ❤️
The chicken rice bowl with spicy slaw was fantastic!
Delicious! First time having Haitian food. Pork griyo platter was super good.
Cinnamon pork so good
Delicious. Must eat.
Loving this place! Check it out whenever you are in Salt Lake City, UT!
Heard about Makaya on Reddit due to the decreasing sales due to the political climate… I don’t care how you vote, you need the griyo platter with pork and the passion fruit drink! Soooo tasty. The coleslaw is spicy, but oh so yummy. The pork was incredibly tender and flavorful and the plantains were so delicious. And that sauce; I don’t know what it’s called, but it’s a brilliant counterpoint to everything else on the plate. This is definitely not to be missed!

I have to thank the SLC subreddit for bringing this place to my attention. I didn’t know we had Haitian food here and knew I had to try it when I found out we do.
This place is great. The owner was incredibly friendly, the food came out very quickly and it was delicious. I will be going back.
Absolutely delicious! The vegan bowl is fantastic and the guava juice out of this world.
We had Makaya Caters come cater a work lunch, and it was fantastic! I don't think I've ever had traditional Haitian food, but it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back to eat at the food truck soon!
Makaya Caters catered an event at my work. Everything was so delicious and the staff when above and beyond. They stood by the door and told everyone about the food including which items to avoid (or how to tone it down) if you were sensitive to spice.
Oh my gosh, best food ever!!
