Beautiful center with lots of displays
About the history of the craft and art that has been been been made in the South Virginia Appalachian Mountains. Beautiful signage about different materials such as basket, Weaving quilting, woodworking, ceramics, etc. and then underneath they have great contemporary artists and craftsman wears for sale. Beautiful lighting. Obviously has all sorts of events. They have a small theater and they have an area that we could handle larger...
On a road trip from Maine to Texas, and all the way through Virginia we stopped everywhere we could looking for Virginia is for lovers tshirts and NOBODY had them. This was the last place we checked, after almost giving up, 20 minutes before the closed. We searched all over to no avail. In the last space we walked through we spotted a hat that had the logo on it, and then we found the shirt!! That was the only reason we went, but as we raced through the building, it seemed really...
Definitely worth the stop. Right off I-81 and filled with many unique treasures of all types of artistic endeavors. I found the perfect pillow for a friend but there was artwork, jewelry, glassworks, textiles (quilts and bags and such) and alpaca socks!
