Love that they cater towards smaller parties. With so many options in the area, not sure why large parties come expecting to be accommodated without reservations. A large party showed up just before I left and had a bad attitude about their policy. There were multiple signs while driving in stating the policy as well as on their website.Keep the small group vibe! Loved it!

Fun 'bagged ' tasting presented in baby jelly jars. Nice place with great views and dog friendly.

Bacco '19 was tasty.

Beautiful location and close to I-64. The Tasting Room has fantastic views and is a really pleasing space. Unfortunately, Afton charges $15 for a glass of wine and I find that pricey. Also, the sampler pack was packaged in tiny mason jars and put in a brown lunch bag, and there was no description of the winery or Wines By The hostess. Aside from the space I was not very impressed unfortunately.

I think the atmosphere is comfortable because even if it was crowded, you have a good amount of space between sitting areas with comfortable sofa. I give it 3 stars for the wine sampling, it was 5 small shot size glasses maybe 1.5oz for 18.00. If you want to charge that much at least give 4oz. Considering you make your own Wine on site this is a large mark up.

Friends and I stopped here for a few minutes before reservations at another winery and we were so impressed, we wished we hadn't made the other reservations! The view is amazing and the glass Pavillion is really nice. Staff was super friendly and the wine was excellent. We are planning another trip back to Afton Mountain with more time to enjoy it all!

Third visit to Afton Winery. Afton Winery wines are some of the best wines I have had the pleasure of tasting. It's a little pricey for amateur's but worth the experience. The views are absolutely gorgeous, wine tasting room is surrounded by glass windows with lots of seating inside and outside. They also rent cabins and bed and breakfast.Highly recommend checking it out.

The staff was amazing! A refreshing change from some of the uptight seeming places closer to town. We really enjoyed our time here and were allowed to bring our own picnic in. They had some delicious local cheeseballs and we added one to our lunch spread. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere since they do not allow large parties in. The wines were amazing as well! Will definitely be back!

Scenic location near/in GW National Forest, dog friendly, courteous and friendly staff, Attractive, winetasting building, plenty of places to sit outside, and enjoy the views. Cab franc was on the thinner side but tasty. Albariño had more depth than I've had before; I recommend it. Prices are steep by the glass; essentially one pays for half a bottle for one glass of wine. I assume that pricing is designed to push you to buy their wine by the bottle.

Wonderful views. Plenty of outdoor seating, patio seating and enclosed seating. The wine is good and they offer tasting kits with pre-made samples.

Breathtaking views, great wine, and really really nice wait staff. They have a beautiful glass walled pavilion that gives you 360° views of the vineyard. The bathrooms are very clean, the Flights come in really cool small glass jars. The wait staff noticed we were a bridal party and offered to take photos for us at the vines and even gave us cool photo ideas. Overall a great experience Highly Highly recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed.

Wine was very good and the views were incredible. However our visit was marred by a member of the staff, Jenny. She was incredibly rude. It was busy when we arrived and we had to wait for quite a bit which was fine. By the time we got to order there was only one other person behind us. However she acted like it was a complete inconvenience when I asked to sample a white and the rosè before selecting a glass and told me I was only allowed two samples (which is fine, but it’s a reasonable question to ask and could have been answered politely). Then as I went to taste the rosè, she actually pulled the glass out of my hand and told me I MUST taste the white first - and not in a friendly way. The experience was very off putting. Her coworker was much kinder and took the time to make me feel welcome when I returned for another glass and I went directly to her. We’re from out of town so this will probably be our only visit.

We did the self wine tasting. It consisted of a paper bag with 5 bottles of wine and a small container of crackers. The wine tasting is good. The glass room with the beautiful Mountain View. Cost for the tasting was $18. You could also buy wine by the glass and bottles as well. You can also buy food that is available for the days.

Great wine! Not super sweet which I love. Doggos are allowed outside! The nice lady doing the tasting for me gave me a few hiking ideas (which were great because I came thinking I would see a view, and it’s so foggy you can’t see anything up on the mountain). Very peaceful place!

Where to start...when we first arrived, we were told that had they known we had more than 8 people they would "have recommended [we] go somewhere else". We were part of a "hostage situation", their words, not mine, because a power line fell across the drive and cars were unable to get in or out. They provided us with no complimentary water or food, despite there being no timeline for how long we would be there, but did give us all a taste of champagne as we were leavongThe building was not safe to be in during a storm, as it was all windows, the doors wouldn't stay shut, and the roof was leaking. Not to mention to go outside to get to a bathroom and the trash cans.
