I am truly sad this restaurant will close at the end of the year. Love the atmosphere, food, and most of all the service. Nice neighborhood establishment away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Alexandria.
These people know exactly what to put in a delicious antipasto cheese platter. Sumptuous goat cheese, fresh meat and salty olives. I have never felt so fulfilled by an Italian restaurant.
The food here is always good, and A LA Lucia always has a robust local clientele - people who come all the time. They have daily specials, wonderful bread with olive oil, and servers who also have been there awhile and who know the offerings by heart, and can describe them. Go when you can because the building there will eventually be torn down, and we will lose another great little pearl of a restaurant in North Old Town. We've already lost Thanida Thai and Perks from this...
