This place is very small. It wouldn't take much for the dining area to become crowded. However it had a nice ambiance to it. My main problem with 219 Restaurant is that the food wasn't good. We started with the fried pork belly and it was absolutely tasteless, even the sauce they served it with, which was the consistency of water, was tasteless. For the main course we got the salmon and the Jambalaya. The risotto that came with the salmon was complete mush. It had no real texture and again was devoid of taste. The Jambalaya flat out tasted bad. It only had two shrimp, what few crawfish that was in it were so microscopic that it didn't even register that they were there. It literally had one piece of chicken and a ton of andouille sausage. But the bottom line was that it tasted bad. It tasted like it was burnt. The beer list wasn't good either. I don't think we will be trying this place again.

I enjoy the after hours DJ evening time. Unfortunately the DJ they currently have is really bad. Every time I choose to go he ruins the vibe. He plays for himself and is totally unaware that he constantly loses the dance floor but he never really has it if I’m being honest. He plays music for teens at a house party or frat party. His track selection is all very disconnected from adults who want to dance. He fails to understand that when everyone is just standing around you need to switch up your selections. We call it ‘reading the room’ but he really needs to learn and understand the importance of this. At the end of the day the DJ is like the chef and the guy they have now desperately needs to learn to cook better.

Amazing atmosphere! Bartender/server was amazing lol He was very entertaining and kept us laughing. Food and drinks were good as well. The cigar lounge was limited seating but good atmosphere.

Has a great time the food was great and service was excellent. Evia the diva was our waitress and she was so attentive and made us feel like we were at home. The blacken salmon and Jambayla was excellent. Evia told us about the live jazz up stairs and reserved us a table as we ate in the main dining room. The band did not get the full name but trio was part of name and they jammed and can play there butts off. We left at intermission because we started the birthday early. Thanks for a wonderful birthday for my brother.

We had a wonderful evening at 219! The she crab soup was delicious and our server Eva was so sweet and took very good care of us. Can't wait to come back the next time we are in town!

Food was fantastic as was the service. Ot was a bit warm next to the fire, but expected it to be so. The room had the feeling of a men's smoking room, which was good and bad. Also, the aroma for the cigar room was evident when we first sat at the table.

Horrible. I cannot express how bad this meal was. It is not authentic La food. As a native, I cannot believe the food. We left without eating and went to another restaurant. The shrimp poboy had 4 shrimp and no remoulade. The jambalaya had a horrible base. Just don't do it. No need to waste money or time.

The waitress was very engaging and made sure to check in often. The food left much to be desired. The best part about the meals was the Caesar salad. The wings were undercooked and the sauce tasted very much like ketchup with a kick. The collards had an ok flavor, but the ham-hock bones were what killed them. It was full of bones. The grits in the shrimp and grits were undercooked and made it grainy. Salmon and orzo were good.

The noise of the loud music with profanity threw off the entire vibe. The place is nice and cozy. The staff was incredibly professional and nice. However the music from downstairs pretty much ruined our experience.

I’ve only gone for the night life part. Never disappoints. Great for a few drinks and dancing. Cool crowd with stellar vibes. Definitely feels like a speakeasy as you’re walking down the quiet cobblestone stairs into a bumping

Our server wasn't attentive ... we had to ask her more than 2x on the status of our food and drinks. She even said her attention span was low, which showed. At the end of dinner, we were talking and she asked if she could move us so she could seat another table.

THIS RESTAURANT REEKS OF CIGAR SMOKE. The food was good, as was the service. I had to have my food boxed up so I could take it home. I left with a headache similar to the ones when I smoked 50 years ago.

My son chose 219 as his restaurant of choice tocelebrate his 19th birthday. We've walked by the location many times, but had no idea what to expect. The ambience was perfect! There were 2 gas burning fireplaces in the dining room, beautiful chandeliers, the appetizers were delicious- order the pretzel - it was huge (fed the 6 of us) and my shrimp n grits were delicious. The restaurant is pricey, which makes it the perfect place for a special occasion.
