Bayou Room Reviews
219 was great for my dad's birthday. The drinks are very good and served in a speedy manner!
Difficult to get service and understaffed on an average night. Prices on the menu are all a few dollars short than what’s on the receipt. Asking for water will get you an eyeroll even if you’ve got drinks and cigars. Cocktail cubes don’t exist, drinks are a little drowned, and we’re looking at maraschino cherries while paying luxardo prices.

We had 5:30 reservations which I guess is early, we had no other guests in the restaurant, I'm surprised because the food was good and king street location close to the water was great! They have entertainment at 9:00 nightly so I guess they get a late crowd

The Bayou Room offers an inviting atmosphere with an entertaining bartender/server who keeps customers laughing. The food and drinks are good, and the cigar lounge has a great vibe, although seating is limited. The service is excellent, with attentive waitstaff who make customers feel at home. The menu features delicious dishes like blackened salmon and jambalaya. On certain nights, live jazz music is played upstairs, enhancing the lively ambiance. The venue also hosts live music and dance events, creating a fun and energetic environment. Customers have praised the food quality, especially the steak, salmon, jambalaya, fried oysters, and wings. The she crab soup and shrimp and grits are particularly popular, with some noting the great sauce on the shrimp and grits. The coconut cake dessert is well-liked, though some wish it was larger and shareable given the price. Visitors have expressed that the basement area has a no-frills, dive bar feel, perfect for those who enjoy good vibes, dancing, and don’t mind cigarette smoke. Service has been described as both excellent and slow at times, and some have mentioned concerns about the mandatory 20% service charge and cigar lounge smoke, which could be an issue for those with respiratory issues. Overall, the Bayou Room provides a lively, fun experience with a mix of great food, live music, and a relaxed environment.
