This place is a vibe. Awesome music acts. If you order food do it when the music isn't playing they might get your order wrong..lol also if you don't like smoke this isn't the place for you unfortunately but it's an older crowd so you Hopefully won't have to deal with drunk college kids but I enjoyed my time.
We went upstairs to the cigar room, we went looking for some New Orleans blues music. But the band that was playing was more 90s top 40. We had a great time dancing but we were hoping to listen to some blues/New Orleans music..we went on a Friday. It was listed as a go it was listed as a blues bar. So I just want you to be aware. We had a great time.
The band was AWESOME!!! The bar is a laid back adult vibe. I will definitely return next time I'm in DCA area...

Some even claim the steak is the best they've ever tasted. The limited-seating cigar lounge has a great atmosphere, although some guests found the cigars a bit pricey, suggesting that smokers might prefer to bring their own. While the customer service could improve, staff are friendly and accommodating, as seen when reservations are extended without issue. The upstairs space is smaller and less comfortable than expected, but the basement with a DJ playing millennial hip hop offers a perfect ending to the night. The venue also features multiple experiences and live music, contributing to a cool and mellow vibe. Overall, Basin Street Lounge is a great place to relax, enjoy delicious food, and listen to live music or a DJ, making it worth a visit.
