We had a nice experience at Bob & Edith's in Old Town Alexandria. Our server was attentive and cheerful. My breakfast was better than my expectations. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash browns were the best I have had in awhile. My wife thought her french toast was great. Little touches that other places are only fair at delivering were done well there, like perfectly toasted wheat bread and bacon that was crispy but not overdone. The prices were reasonable, too. Give it a try

We came on Thanksgiving day.The sign on the wall said “Seat Yourself.” (Please remove it if we have to wait to be seated.) Dunia was our server. We arrived there around 11.30 or so. We walked in and seated ourselves as per the sign, and that restaurant was so packed and crowed, so we just made sure we accommodated ourselves while we were disturbing the staff. We did seat ourselves at the table that was not cleaned and cleared out some dishes, yet we waited patiently and tried not to interrupt even with the menu or to clean the table as we believed we would be assisted next and when the staff are available. It turned out that no one was really notice our presence while there were all moving around taking orders and trying to seat and assist people that came after. It took approximately 10-15 mins for the wait so we decided to trouble staff for the menu. An as well quite a wait time for the order to be taken, even after the two tables that are seated after our table. When we got the food, we realized the a couple of items were missing, however; there were no chance to let the server know since the server never came to check our table while the table in front and behind us were checked a couple of times. It did seem that we were intentionally neglected. When the first bill came, we were billed with the missing items, but that is not a concern as that could be fixed and we knew that the restaurant was really busy and everyone was working their best. Nevertheless, we noticed we were charged 18% gratuity for Large Party (6 or more) while we were just a party of four. We were informed that it was the Holiday Charge. So we decided to ask the supervisor or manager at the checkout and we were informed we were charged by accident, which was not the same information we recited from the server. All in all, we understood this busy time and how hard they tried to cater everyone, but we were just customers who followed the sign and did not expect to cause any troubel. Yet, we believed we misunderstood the sign “Seat Yourself” that we can be seated anywhere while, perhaps, the true meaning is wait until we notice your presence. We did not mean to write anything and decided to leave it as it be, but out of those intentional negligent sevice and still being charged gratuity when we were only four people is beyond honesty and, it is truly disrespectful and unacceptable.

It felt clean and nice to be in, and the food is well made. It’s nothing specially extraordinary, sure, but it’s exactly what a good diner should be.

I have been a loyal B&E customer since their only dinner in Arlington (my favorite breakfast place).
As of today, I have visited all of their chain.
Now, egg prices were very high in the beginning of this year $6.00+ a dozen (I get it, higher prices).
Today eggs are less than half that price per dozen. I paid $22.00 + tip for 2 eggs, sausages, home fries and one pancake.
I think that customer loyalty should be as important as B&E's bottom line! I will check their website and when they have reasonable prices, I will come back. I am spending less than this at full service restaurants Old Town. Unfortunately, this post is falling on deaf ears!

Ordered through door dash and usually I have no problems. However, the past 2 times I’ve ordered and found HAIR in my food. I am not pleased.

Food was probably the worst I've had. The patty melt was filled with grease. Sweet tea tasted old. Potato salad had no flavor. Coleslaw was bland and not sweet.

Food was incredible. The French toast was GIANT. The amount of food you got for the price was also incredible. We went there with our 3 kids and my SIl and her husband. A walk in 7 top would stress people out normally, but they handled it well. I am recommending this place for all turnout of town guests who come in and visit the area! 10/10 will recommend!!
