This place is near the waterfront but not quite, and a little off of the tourist area, but we were unable to get into any other place on a nice weekend. The format is mostly pizza or pizza related. We got the spuckie, which is a sub, and a zepp, which was sort of a pizza crust folded over, The sub was not quite loaded like a normal sub but was tasty, and my wife enjoyed her zepp. Drinks were kind of funny-- I had ordered a draft beer, and got a can of what was nearly something completely opposite in character, which, when challenged by my wife, she explained what I ordered was out and this was "close." It was promptly replaced. Two mains without sides and two beers was just under $60, normal for the waterfront area, but a bit strange for a sub to not come with a side like fries or something. The food wasn't bad but it's not the best Alexandria can do.
Amazing waterfront location with very fun but also clean bar food. Cocktails were strong and yummy and food was delicious. Large portions. Service great. We can’t wait to keep going. Also has happy hour and indoor and outdoor seating.

MANDATORY 22% Gratuity? Are we seriously at this point now? You don’t even see that in Miami beach, what gives? The service was actually not good for our group of 50+. It may have been a new bartender just learning, I was still going to tip but 22%? To be fair, when speaking to the manager, he did ask if it needed to be changed, but I know he was already annoyed by me for asking literally valid questions. I generally tip 30%+ but to AUTOMATICALLY be charged 22% I have never seen in my life.
Edit: in response to the owner’s reply.. how can it not be mandatory? How am I going to change the bill? The manager seemed to be very upset about it when asked. So yes, 22% automatically applied gratuity is unethical and borderline illegal. Next time I have to come here I’m making sure my group doesn’t pay for anything. The audacity to not even advertise this to customers is outrageous. We had bad service! It was not a bill for a large group, I bought a few beers and pizza that was extremely slow and the bartender asked me 3 times what I wanted like they forgot.
Additionally, if the place closes at 10, and they have 4 pizzas sitting out at the kitchen, why would they stop selling at 9? And to be rude about it too? The whole experience was just ridiculous, and I generally give great reviews.

If you're looking for a slice in Old Town Alexandria, you have to drop in. You can even create your own! The eggplant was delicious and the service was great.

Coming from NC the trip to this place is rather impressive. I watch 2 people hand make our pizza & incredibly somehow replicated Costco pizza perfectly..

We absolutely love Cooper Mill—it’s such a beautiful and charming venue! From the moment we visited, we knew it was the perfect place for us, and we’re so excited to be having our wedding here. The space is warm, inviting, and full of character, and the team has been wonderful to work with. Couldn’t be happier with our choice!

I have been waiting with my family in table for more than 10 minutes no one comes and I left no one has approached
Gorgeous atmosphere and decor. Waited well over ten minutes for a server, but when she arrived she was efficient. We had the baked brie and Greek salad to start. Salad was incredibly fresh and a nice size. Brie itself was good, but the bread bites served with it were chewy & stale and the grapes were a bit old. We ordered pepperoni pizza mainly because the menu is so limited (pizza or their version of a calzone and that’s it). It was hot, but dough was also somewhat stale (on a Saturday??). Honestly, we would definitely come back for the bar and the atmosphere, but not for a meal.

We thoroughly enjoyed the garlic knots, stuffed mushrooms and the friendly service. We did not try the pizza but it smelled and looked delicious. We heard lots of people raving about it!

I would not recommend you go here unless you are a tourist with nowhere else to go or just want a slice of pizza and a beer.
The food was fine and not nearly worth the cost. We ordered the meatballs that were very unimpressive, even if they were pre-frozen from their food supplier.
The inside main floor offers only bar and high top seating, so it is not family friendly. I think they try to make up for this fact with some very upscale high chairs that sit at the perfect height for kids to grab the table edge. Our server was generally good.
Overall, it was fine to try out this relatively new place and learn that I don’t need to go back.

This is a new great spot for a casual night out or lunch while visiting Old Town. Located in the southeast quadrant, The Cooper Mill is an awesome addition to Old Town. I'm pleased to write their very first Tripadvisor review. Cooper Mill is casual pizza place and pub, in a really great setting. Many of the old buildings in Old Town on the waterfront have been lost or converted to chain restaurants. But character and heritage are preserved at Cooper Mill. A traditional long bar and some high-top tables, with low lighting and interior brick. They've just opened, and I stumbled upon them during a recent staycation at Hotel Indigo. Slices of their "Perfect 10" and "Bianco's" pizza were delicious. A full-service bar, with a plethora of selections. I had lager and amber drafts. Both were quite good. The prices are incredibly reasonable -- a welcome change for Old Town -- and the ability to order fresh pizza by the slice is a find. The service was prompt and friendly, both at lunch, and a different day for an early dinner. Street parking is tough in this area of Old Town, but there's a parking garage directly across the street. I'll definitely return and highly recommend as a starting point for lunch if you're spending the day in Old Town. The atmosphere is vintage historic Old Town, in a terrific location just a block from the waterfront pathway.
