Great historic spot with really great food. The crab cakes are great as was a calamari, which was unique because though it was breaded it had a mix of spice to include garlic which made it something special. The prime rib is awesome as well as their French onion soup.
Made a call on my way back from Mt Vernon, was craving a nice bowl of seafood chowder soup to go! Tricia was so nice to allow me a takeout order between lunch and dinner service. Wonderful and quaint this tavern is, reminds me of the taverns in Old City Phila where im originally from. Enjoy!!
Everyone raved about the peanut soup, I found it to be just OK. However, because this was a local favorite I had to try it. If you were a fan of peanut butter, then this is right up your alley.
