Very nice staff. Polite and kind. Food was great. Not a big shop but feel like a moms and pops store you remember as a kid. The demonstration and display of food is nice. Overall you won’t be disappointed. It is also kept clean and tidy. I will visit again. Maybe you could have like birthday giveaways? I didn’t ask about veteran discounts. Just an idea you could have a Veterans Day event. It is just an idea but it is a really nice place to sit and eat and have conversation with people. They also hold events that you arrange but not sure how many people can be at the venue at one time

HH pastry shop was wonderful to work with for a custom cake order! Not only that, but the cake was both beautiful and delicious! We appreciate the care and effort put into getting the details right on our cake!

This has been my go-to bakery for a while, but my trust is now eroded. A day after I placed and paid for a cake order, I got a phone message from the shop that my order had been canceled and would be refunded due to a power outage (although my order was placed a week in advance). Therefore, I ordered a cake from a different bakery. On the day of my event, Hollin Hall Pastry Shop called me to say that my cake was ready, and the shop was about to close. Turns out that they did not cancel the order or initiate a refund. I ended up purchasing two cakes which had to be picked up from two bakeries (this one on short notice). The cake was not authentic German chocolate but was quite tasty and received many compliments. So Hollin Hall Pastry Shop makes good tasting cakes, but you cannot believe a word that they say, even in a recorded message. I may come back again, but most likely I'll bake the next cake at home so I will have control over whether I get a cake or not, and I'll be able to save most of the $60 + tip.

I usually don't go into this shop/store because I just pass it on my way to either the Variety Store or the Safeway Grocery Store.

First time I’ve ever thrown out a latte. I normally would just ask for something different but the staff was so unfriendly I didn’t want to deal with them.

As a self proclaimed chocolate croissant connoisseur, this is my second favorite! Full of quality chocolate throughout the entire center.

Bonus that it’s walking distance from the baseball fields!!

The cake I bought was delicious. You can tell they use quality ingredients, and it was beautifully decorated. However, the customer service was severely lacking. I wasn’t greeted when I walked in, nor was there a “thank you” or any acknowledgment when I made my purchase. The staff seemed indifferent, which made the experience feel cold and unwelcoming. A little friendliness would go a long way in making customers feel valued.

A blind 5 stars across the board for these folks! I absolutely love anything that I have had here, but the Almond Croissants, are AMAZING! I love that it's kept seasonal and creative, fresh, hand made from scratch with lots of love of course, and you can definitely taste it, along with the great taste of butter! Such a hidden gem in the Mount Vernon area.
