We've enjoyed dining at LaPorta's although we go, mostly, for the music. We enjoy Jazz a lot. It is a refreshing venue to listen to Jazz. The food is good, I have had better, but I have had much worse. It is definitely much better than average. I have had there Chicken Fettucine and there Medallian Steaks. Both were excellent. The restaurant is nice inside as well.
This is a real gem with great food, terrific service and jazz in the evenings. The night we were there they had a very tasty bruschetta appetizer with tomatoes from the owner's garden. Schnitzel, chicken with spinach and feta wrapped with bacon and an onion and cheese tart were all entree hits. Pearl's carrot cake is a must-order dessert that's definitely enough to share. Wonderful night! Food was perfect. We had the bruschetta and the tomatoes were from the chef's garden and we could taste the freshness! We also had mussels verde, salmon and Trout. All delicious. Topped everything off with chocolate, cheese cake and cappuccino. The jazz was really good as well. Plan to go back again soon!
