I’m not sure if it was an off day or if the oven was messed up when my order went in but I ordered a XL Ny style pizza and I got chewy gummy heavy dough in every bite. Typically happens if the oven isn’t hot enough so the top and edges look done but the inside and back comes out like it did. Also the pizza didn’t fit in the box so it was a little bent up. Maggio's Italiano is a hidden gem for bar and kitchen in Alexandria. The bar is a full lounge vibe — great Happy Hour 5-9PM, strong cocktails like the Tequila Sunrise and Green Tea Drop, ice-cold taps including Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing and Narragansett, and a full liquor selection with a laid-back, neon-lit lounge feel.

My car is down the street and I started wandering around looking for food and came across this little gem. I came in and was greeted promptly. She gave me time to review the menu and I settled on gyro dinner with chocolate mousse cake. Food was delicious, not overly oily and has lots of flavor. Generous portion too, so I actually got full!
