You can never go wrong with cookies (or any other delightful treats) from Maribeth’s Bakery. We have been placing special orders with them since 2012 for everything from graduations to recitals to baby showers to promotions. The decorated cookies are a great addition to any event.
The baked goods looked wonderful, but I won’t be buying any. I was looking at the bread while I was at a Saturday morning street fair in downtown Alexandria, VA on May 10, 2025, and standing a few inches from the table when a woman who worked there pushed between me and the table. She was arranging the goods on the table. I said it all looked so good. The woman told me that i couldn’t stand there as it was for people who were buying items. Her tone was quite curt. I replied that I was going to buy some bread ( I was getting 4 loaves and some cookies), and she said good- in a rude tone. No baked goods from that stand for me- ever. I went to the other side and asked another employee for a business card- which I had to ask for twice. My first visit to that street fair and the interaction with that woman (another street fair customer told me the woman’s name is MaryBeth) made for a distasteful morning. Kindness counts.
Ordered a red velvet cake for a birthday, and it was enjoyable. The birthday girl loved it, so that’s what matters. Maybe a *touch* dry for my liking. I was told I could pick up at any time, and upon arrival the cake had not been decorated, so I had to wait a while. Ultimately the decoration was beautiful, but I wish I was given a specific pick up time so that it would be ready.

Most people know Maribeth's through their presence at the local food markets. And I like their products enough that I will go to this location to pick up cookies or quiches for events I'm hosting or attending. This is an industrial environment but it's a quick way to pick up their products if you need quantities.

We bought a challah and a cherry cheesecake pop tart from the farmer’s market and everything is so delicious! The pop tart pastry is so flaky and just melts in your mouth. 10/10

The cinnamon roll wasn't at all what it looked like in pictures. Dry and crunchy not ooie gooey. Flavor was alright but ended up just throwing it away. Blueberry Pop tart was fine. Too much crust but the filling was nice. The guy taking my order didn't actually respond to questions. It was kinda bizarre, like listen when someone is talking to you? But whatever who cares if the food is good sadly it wasn't.

Awesome cookies and the staff rocks 🤘
The homemade poptarts are amazing!
Picked up the Apple/Pear pie with oatmeal topping while visiting for the weekend from out of state. My only regret was not being able to bring the rest home on the plane! Gosh i wish I had the recipe! Sooooo good!!

We have been ordering from MBB for years. Their baked goods are absolutely delicious and their customer service is top notch. We particularly love the pies, cookies, and breakfast breads. My husband is obsessed with their chocolate cake. I always order something to take to family over a holiday and they have about it every time. We also really appreciate that they deliver right to our door!

Every baked item I get from Maribeth’s is great but we live for the delicious and beautiful sugar cookies! It brings a smile to my face every time I come to get cookies at the Old Town Farmers market. Most recently, celebrating the Summer Olympics, these were so fun!
There’s always a line at the Old Town Farmers market for Maribeth’s so get there early if there is a specific item you want, because they’ll sell out. Their staff is efficient and helpful once it’s your turn. The only problem is that I always want one of everything!

I ordered here for a family member to get a delivery, and there was a snag in the order. The team fixed the issue with ease and swiftness and I am so impressed by both. The treats looked delicious, I was told they were as well. Super happy and grateful for good business owners and fantastic small businesses, and this bakery checks both of those off for sure. Can’t wait to come in and try for myself, next time I am in VA.
Thanks again!!!

Poor customer service at Old Town Farmers Market (June 2024). Female worker chastised customer for accidentally knocking over a package of cookies, commenting that she (said customer) shouldn’t have to ask about paying for them, with the bottom line being that she obviously should pay for them in the worker’s opinion. I was so taken aback, and immediately got out of line. She (said worker, blonde woman) was so mean and snarky, while the female customer was just initially apologetic and then in shock, with the rest of us, by this woman’s reaction. Sad for a long time vendor in Alexandria to put a stain on the historical, beloved farmers market like this.
MB Bakery is fantastic! Their cookies are perfect, the cream cheese cinnamon buns are delicious, and their breads are fresh and amazing. The staff is always respectful and helpful, whether at the bakery or the Saturday market. Highly recommend!
