An amazing steakhouse with great prices in Old Town! The food and service are consistently great. I've been taking my dad here for his birthday for the past 3 years and we love it every time. Tonight, our amazing waiter Leo was so attentive and even brought my dad a cake slice! Will continue to come back every year.

Waited quite awhile for our food. Not sure the order went in right after we ordered. The manager did apologize, but then asked me to let him know if they could comp anything...? Why ask...just do it.

Both the service and the food were amazing! We came for a birthday and immediately the hostess said “Happy birthday”, gave us specific menus with the phrase on it as well, and came over a few minutes later with a handwritten birthday card. Our server, Jose, was so attentive and helpful, especially with accommodating allergies. The GM, Todd, came over and asked us about our meal and how we found the restaurant. He explained their farm to table process and the importance of a great dining experience. Suffice to say, they absolutely accomplished that. We'll definitely be going back.

Went here for my birthday with family. Todd and staff went the extra mile with their hospitality. Looking forward to visiting again!

We come here a few times each year for a special steak dinner. This night it was y birthday. The steak I ordered was just ok. Generally they are full of flavor tender and juicy but this was not the case. It was on the dry side and tasteless. My daughter had the expensive wagu steak and she thought is was different than usual as well. It was tasteless and on the dryer side still tender but not much taste. We thought this was very unusual for here. The steaks are always top notch. We were disappointed and concerned. My wife said her scallops were ok but dryer than in the past as well. So I guess it was just not our night for top steaks and others. The service was great and the sides were good but we were disappointed. After coming here for years we always expected a great dinner and experience. I'm not sure we will return in the future. We may go elsewhere.

Celebrating my boyfriend's 30th birthday there was the best way to kick off our weekend in Alexandria. Our waiter Leo really made our experience amazing, food was outstanding and overall vibe was spectacular. Definitely will be back !

The evening began with a mocktail that set the tone for everything that followed: the whimsically named Planet of the Gr-Ape-Fruits. A mix of grapefruit juice, honey, basil, and club soda, it landed with a clean, bright snap. Sweet, herbal, and lightly fizzy, it was refreshing enough that a second glass felt inevitable. This was a return visit to Oak Steakhouse in Alexandria, and it only confirmed why I had promised myself I would come back. The restaurant delivers the kind of experience that makes a long drive worthwhile. Luckily, this trip was just a short one, and the payoff was every bit as satisfying. The Iceberg Wedge was a smart reimagining of a classic. Baby heirloom tomatoes added brightness, brie contributed a touch of indulgence, pork rind gave crunch, and pickled shallots cut through with sharpness. Buttermilk dressing pulled it all together. The Braised Beef Belly brought richness in every bite. Bacon jam deepened the flavor, while poached mustard greens provided balance. Celery root purée added earthy smoothness, and a toasted sesame bordelaise introduced a nutty edge that lingered. To reset the palate, a house-made apricot sorbet arrived. Light, refreshing, and the perfect prelude to the main course. The highlight of the evening was the 10-ounce filet mignon au poivre. Perfectly cooked and paired with cremini and king oyster mushrooms, it carried layers of flavor that kept unfolding. The soy black pepper butter gave it character, the garlic streusel added texture, and the veal jus tied it together. On the side, creamed corn and a potato dish filled with garlic, basil, thyme, and parmesan felt like summer on a plate. The crispy Brussels sprouts were no afterthought, glazed with apple cider soy caramel and topped with fried shallots. Dessert was impossible to resist. The pistachio s'mores tartufo combined toasted marshmallow ice cream, pistachio ice cream, a fudge center, and a dark chocolate shell. A cinnamon crumble and torched marshmallows fini

We've been wanting to go to Oak Steakhouse for a longtime. We decided at the last minute and used Open Table. Busy night but we got a quiet table. Richard was our server and he knew his wine, the beer and the food. Gave excellent recommendations and even enjoyed discussing how we enjoyed them. It was a very pleasant evening and Richard helped make the evening. Rib eye was a good portion. Brussel Sprouts were delicious as well as puree potatoes. I'd pass on shrimp but oysters were very good. Dessert was good portion, good selection and a tasty way to end the meal. We will be back!

This is our go to in Old Town for steaks. Always a great meal here. The scallops were also excellent. What a great way to celebrate the holiday weekend.

Had a wonderful meal~ Starting with delicious Parkerhouse rolls ( both rolls & butter are nade fresh- in house) and a lovely salad with apples and pecans. Then we had the puréed potatoes, brussels sprouts, and a delicious Ribeye steak with a blue cheese crust. We ended the meal with their hummingbird bread pudding, which was the most fabulous dessert I’ve had in a very long time. I love that they have sugar cubes served with their French press coffee!
Our server Rich put together our menu for us. Thank you so much. We will be back soon.!

This is not the best steakhouse in Northern Virginia but surely the most expensive. Servicing sizes are small for sides and the Caesar salad was small for four people when we ordered enough for the table. Portion sizes were minimal and certainly overpriced for a high end restaurant. They charged for bread.steak sauces and didn’t even have artificial sweeteners even though I asked for unsweetened ice tea. We asked for a signature desert for the table … put it on the table with our plates to share it. Prices were very high and unusually inflated with a price for things like simple bread and steak sauces. The rib eye was stringy and tough and raw . Go to the palm of you want a classic great steak dinner. This was not what we expected.

Omg!!! I am so glad we chose this place. As first timers in Alexandria, we really hit the jackpot with Oak Steakhouse. Service was amazing, from the reception area to conclusion of your meal everything was great. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. We were even given in-house coffee cakes as a special treat. Sean was our server and he was very friendly & attentive. The food was delicious. Please get the smoky Mac & cheese and Parkerhouse rolls. So good. I hope to dine there again.

I always come here when there is something to celebrate. I love Rockefeller oysters, beef tartar, mac and cheese, and, of course, steaks. There is a good variety of wine options! I wish they included peach cobbler on their dessert list again.
