I had a very disappointing experience picking up my online order at this restaurant. When I arrived, there was no one at the reception, so I waited for about a minute or two. A staff member was sitting on a high chair to the right, and he only approached me after two other customers walked in behind me.
When I told him I was there to pick up my food, he immediately asked if I was with DoorDash. I said no and gave him my name, but he asked again if I was with DoorDash. I had to repeat that I was a customer multiple times before he finally assisted me. The whole interaction felt frustrating and unprofessional.
If a restaurant offers online ordering, the pickup process should be smoother and more organized. Unfortunately, the lack of attentiveness and confusion made this an unpleasant experience. I won’t be returning.

I highly recommend this place. We went for Sunday brunch, and we'll needing to be coming back for all the other options.
We had the Weiss sausage and pretzel for an appetizer, an omelette, and the steak and eggs. Super good.

I spent many of my younger years living throughout Germany in the early 2000s as a military brat. It’s very rare that I find a place that does jaeger schnitzel the way I remember but this place nailed it. My friends loved their dishes as well. Great spot and really friendly staff.

There are not many places in DMV that offer better, home made authentic food prepared with so much love and attention. You can find some authentic German food, as well as some Balkan specialties like ćevapčići, sarma (stuffed cabbage leaves) and baklava. And don’t even start me talking about phenomenal strudel!

Good service, food & overall ambience. Add to that European style menu and you a getting place to visit on your to-do list while in Old Town Alexandria. Be warned - a lot of people feel the same and the place is busy even mid-week even past 8 PM. Important details: restaurant has 2 floors with 2 dining rooms & bar area on the first floor. Both rooms have excellent servers - you would not feel abandoned even on the second floor. The only issue with the top room - pretty steep stairs leading up. If visiting 1st time, suggest to start with Goulash soup, follow by cevapi (grilled beef mini sausages) or wurst platter ( 3 district sausages with pretzel) and mixed salad. For a drink - recommend looking for some wine, restaurant has interesting European ones.
