I’ve been eating bbq most of my life. This ain’t it. It tastes boiled and smoked. I’m generally not a person who post my opinion, but they won’t learn to do better because they get a bunch of good reviews. Either I’m living around a bunch of bland flavor palettes, or I’m mistaken. Having tasted it for myself color me unimpressed.
Very good BBQ.
The tables were booked for the party so we order the food and ate outside. There are tables in front of the restaurant. I tried Cuban sandwiches and it’s delicious. We order some beers at the bar, there are good amount of options.
The food here is what I like. Place that you need to know.
I ordered online through UberEats because I wanted to give them another chance. I called them (which I never do) to say the roasted turkey was undercooked and inedible. I was told to contact UberEats, which I did. The mac and cheese was one of the worst I have ever had - so runny with no flavor. Everything else- ribs, burnt tips, the two special sides, are just mediocre. The furthest thing from real bbq.
Love this place!
Was ignored for 10 mins then refused service
Great BBQ in a laid back, casual atmosphere. The pulled pork was perfect and I paired it with the sweet sauce. I highly recommend the cucumber salad and Mac.
The space is clean and very presentable. The food is amazing. If one is looking for a good BBQ place in the DC Metro area, this place is it. It has many options for all different diet folks.
There is a park lot in the back. I am going again and again. Oh the cornbread....go get that.
Great customer service. Ordered a bowl of chili...it was very, very good.

Absolutely incredible place! Love that it is a casual BBQ place and lively bar at the same time! Had the pick 3 with the pulled chicken, pulled pork, and brisket. The pulled chicken and pork were delicious! The brisket was good, but a little dry/tough. I had the mac & cheese and collard greens as my sides, and they were my FAVORITE part and large portions too! Honestly, I could've just eaten those two endlessly! 🤤 Overall, highly recommend this place! 💯

Ordered a Chipotle chicken wrap and burnt ends with the mac n cheese and collard greens for pickup around 730pm on a Wednesday night.
Good: free parking in the rear of building, the mac and cheese is very good. Food was ready five minutes after ordering, which was nice, but overkill for a pickup order.
Mid: The collard greens were just OK. Taste is decent on the burnt ends and Chipotle chicken wrap. The plastic packaging is not great imo.
Bad: The burnt ends were halfway to cold, and dry A.F. As if they cut and portioned these out earlier in the day and just slightly reheated them before wrapping them in foil. The Smoking Kow has superior burnt ends.

Food is great, but most of all the people are the best! Just a wonderful neighborhood institution that’s great for families. But they also are wonderful community supporters - feeding election workers and giving out free sandwiches to anyone with an “I voted” sticker. Just good people!

I was really disappointed with the food quality and the misleading pricing on the menu.
The Del Ray deal clearly states that it includes a choice of a classic sandwich. However, neither the menu nor the cashier mentioned an upcharge for the brisket. When I asked an employee about this, he informed me it would be $2.50 extra per sandwich, which turned out to be incorrect—it was actually $2.95 per sandwich. I pointed out that this wasn’t indicated on the menu, and he went to check it himself.
The brisket was very dry—probably the worst I’ve had. Not sure if I just got a bad batch, but it genuinely felt like chewing on sand.
On the plus side, the drinks and macaroni were pretty good. However, for a $50 bill for two people, including tips, I expected a bit more overall quality.
