The recipe was developed by Oregon State's Department of Fermentation Sciences, based on a 26-page laboratory report from 1948. The first batch was produced at Right Proper Brewing in Shaw. The 4.7% post-Prohibition lager is brewed with flaked corn and hopped with Oregon varietals available in the 1940s.

It's an abbey ale brewed in the classic 'Quadrupel' style of Belgium's best Abbey Ales. Dark with a full, ivory-colored head. It has a fruity aroma, full of complex flavours and excels because of its long bittersweet finish with a hoppy bite. Widely considered to be one of the best beers in the world. It's very balanced, with a full-bodied taste and a perfect equilibrium between malty, bitter and sweet. One of the original recipes from the days of license-brewing for the Trappist monks of Westvleteren.

SCHLENKERLA EICHE Oak-Smoked Rauchbier (Smoke)(Germany / 8.0% / 16 oz. / 4 Pack) Following century old recipes all malts made at the Schlenkerla brewery are dried by wood fire. While for the classic "Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier" traditionally beech has been – and still is – used, the malt for Schlenkerla Eiche (known as "Oak Smoke") is kilned with oak wood. The resulting Oak Smoke Malt has a smoother and more multi layered smoky note than the intensely aromatic Beech Smoke Malt. The hence complex smokiness in "Schlenkerla Oak Smoke" is paired with the multifaceted bitterness of finest Hallertau aroma hops. With 8% ABV and amber color it matures for months in the deep brewery cellars underneath Bamberg into a special treat for smoke beer lovers.

SCHLENKERLA ERLE Smoked Schwarzbier (Smoke)(Germany / 4.2% / 16 oz. / Single) Schwarzbier has been around since at least the 16th century and was once more widespread than it is today. Schlenkerla used a very special smoked malt for their version of this classic black lager. This is not dried over a beech wood fire as usual, but over an alder wood fire. The alder-smoked malt brings a fine, complex smoky flavor to the beer, which is less strong and spicy than some of their other offerings. A high proportion of roasted malt ensures a pronounced roasted aroma and the dark, almost black color.

SCHLENKERLA FASTENBIER Rauchbier (Smoke)(Germany / 5.9% / 16 oz. / Single) The Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer is an unfiltered smokebeer, brewed in accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smoky aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note. In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness.

Great place for Sunday brunch. Everything was fantastic. Crispy Brussel Sprouts, wings, spinach dip, meatballs to start...all delicious. Main dishes were all outstanding as well with great beer recommendations! We used to go here once in a while, but we'll definitely make it a more frequent dinner choice. Carla was a very attentive server. 5 stars all around - highly recommend!

This was our first time at Rustico. Our dinner was fantastic. We tried the wings, Brussels sprouts, pizza, bolognese, cheesecake, and donuts. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We will be back for sure.
