I love the coffee and pastry options, location, amount of seating inside and out, dog bowls, and service! The execution of drinks is hit or miss and the pastries are also a gamble to be yummy or stale. Today was amazing! And St Elmo’s is overall wonderful!

Visited the Delray St Elmo’s today. Enjoying my St. Elmo’s iced coffee and finishing a sandwich that I had purchased elsewhere when an older employee came out from the back and informed me that they do not allow outside food to be brought in to their store. I acknowledged her and proceeded to finish the 3 bites of my sandwich that I had left feeling that what she had said to me was for future reference for when I returned the next time. A couple minutes later that same employee repeated to me that outside food was not to be brought in to their store. I told her that I heard her the first time. She said to me “ But you are still here!” I showed her my coffee that I purchased at St Elmo’s and she still expected me to leave. I asked her if she was going to say anything to the table next to us that had 10 people at it with bags of food and drink that were not purchased at their store. She said nothing to them! If you have rules than they should be applied to all customers. I will never give patronage to the Delray establishment again!

Casual, lovely place to work & vibe

I usually love to stop in to St. Elmo's and have even scheduled team meetings here. But today I found the service well below what's acceptable. In the past I have ordered a menu item that meets my allergy needs. I couldn't find it on the menu and asked the staff member for assistance ordering what I wanted. While she checked ingredients of one item, when I asked for more information she was really dismissive. There was only one other person in line and I would have happily allowed her to go ahead of me. But it was clear the server didn't care to assist me further. If you like St. Elmo's, perhaps try another location where the staff are more considerate.

I parked my car a couple blocks away and sat here for a while with my laptop, and the atmosphere was great! The Veggie Quiche was excellent! There were a variety of people - bicyclists, families, laptop folk, etc. There are some wall outlets for charging, too. Thanks!

Great experience! My only suggestion is that they swap the restroom doorhandles with Lever Handles rather than the rounded ones they use currently. Lever handles are often easier to operate than knob handles, especially for people with limited hand strength or dexterity.

Great place for smoothies, lunch items, coffee, or tea. I really enjoy sitting here to read or chat with friends. Staff are fast and polite. The music can be a little loud and it gets very crowded on the weekends. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I love this place. I come to Elmo's every time I visit the East Coast. I love sitting outside: you can really feel this cozy atmosphere of Alexandria. If you have a dog, they even have a bowl of water for it (I don't have one, I just saw a few). The prices match the quality of drinks and food.
I like that the portions are not overwhelming: so you don't overdo it.
I understand that everybody has something going on in their lives, but one girl had a grumpy face and did everything with an attitude, which I don't like seeing when I rarely visit my favorite town of all the US.

I had to knock off two stars for the fact that the coffee cake has RAISINS in it. Who hurt the person who made that? It's genuinely deranged, like if you put chocolate chips in meatloaf. The unmitigated horror I felt when I bit into that will haunt me for years to come. Coffee is fine.
