The best Argentinian food in the area, ran by amazing people
first time ordering pizza a great success. but unfortunately the second time our experience was not good at all. the pizza was soggy and very thin( completely different from our first time a couple weeks ago) and the pastafrola and croissants were not fresh at all. and unfortunately this is not about having different tastes it's about the items not being fresh at all. Very disappointed 😞

Tango Pastry is a hidden gem located on H Street NE in Washington, D.C., offering great service and delicious empanadas. The ham & cheese empanada and the sándwich de milanesa are favorites among customers. This Argentine bakery and café provides a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere, reminiscent of a beloved neighborhood café in Buenos Aires. Chef Katriel and his wife ensure that guests receive heartfelt hospitality, making each visit feel personal and warm.
The empanadas stand out for their rich, seasoned filling and perfectly golden crust, delivering that classic Argentine flavor. Tango Pastry also offers facturas, including varieties filled with quince and crema pastelera, which are delicate and sweet. The croissants, both plain and filled with dulce de leche, are buttery and indulgent, crafted with an artisanal touch.
In a city with few Argentine bakeries, Tango Pastry has quickly become a favorite spot for locals. Customers enjoy the egg and ham and cheese sándwiches de miga, as well as the toasted medialunas. The café is known for its top-notch service, with staff members like Patricia creating a welcoming environment for families. With its authentic flavors and charming atmosphere, Tango Pastry is a highly recommended spot that feels like a piece of Argentina, making it worth a visit time and time again.
